Has anyone here used the teeth whitening stuff.. they have it in strips and other paint on stuff... my point is how did it work?
I want to know about those too. Someone told me they are actually bad for your teeth. ????? Im going to ask the dentist before I try one I guess
Eh...haha well see what I do is..well use Crest whitening baking soda and peroxide toothpaste..good stuff! and AFTER u brush ur teeth, dip ur toothbrush into some peroxide and brush ur teeth! i swear ull get whiter teeth in a few days! and then just keep doing it and ull have reely white teeth!!
I feel that it is my duty as a dedicated dental assistant and future dental hygentist to step in here and share some of my knowledge about teeth! There are things you can use around the house such as baking soda and peroxide...this will whiten your teeth slightly, it will not harm your teeth if only used say once a month....Do not do this every day or every week....IT CAN BE HARMFUL !!!!!!!!! Whitening tooth pastes They r good to use..but really are not going to make ur teeth noticable whiter..... Paint on whiteners ... I would not reccomend these..because they just wash off during the night time hours.... Crest White strips are FABULOUS...they work very well..one of the only things sold to the general public that actually do something ! Try crest white strips supreme..they have even more peroxide in them to whiten your teeth...They will make your teeth very very sensitive..but your not going to get your teeth any whiter w/ out having sensitivity...*Whitestrips not too pricey...but hey, if u gotta drop 40 bucks...that's worth it to have whiter teeth! ~~they do slide around though... Bleaching trays and kits (gel stuff) from dentist or net....those work very well also...but are very expensive...the ones we sell at my office are about 200 dollars... Professional 1 HOUR whitening....This will make your teeth hollywood white....I had this done for only ten minutes out of the sixty and it whitened my teeth 8 shades!!! it is amazing...the procedure is EXTREMELY uncomfortable...The peroxide we put on your teeth tingles and burns .... it is painful.. i do not recommend this..it is not worth it...and it's very expensive anywhere from 500 to 800 dollars...And it made my teeth hurt like hell for about a week..they were sensitive to air as i would breath and my fillings would zing for no reason... **Oral b rembrant whitening strips...these are similar to white strips..we had an oral b rep come in the office and let us try them out..these r fantastic..i would recommend these over anything..they do not slide around and they do not taste as awful as the whitestips...http://oralb.com/whitening ****Any whitening you do will make your teeth sensitive and they all taste awful*** *do not use them if you have crowns or bridges or partial dentures up front (k 9 to k 9) because it will not bleach those.. **These products r not unhealthy for your teeth..if they were ..they would not sell them in the stores...so feel free to use them...!!!! I would recommend during and for a few days after u use these products to stay on what we call the 'white' diet...do not eat anything really colored...such as red wine, coffee, or chocolate...see what happens is ur teeth become dehydrated and it will soak up that color that ur eating.... GOOD LUCK MAMA
I've been quite hesitant to use any of these... mostly because a few news reporters (I can tell) use these and it can be quite the center of attention on the TV and quite blinding... lol.
Nah, none of the things u can buy in the store will make ur teeth that HOLLYWOOD WHITE>...they r not strong enough....only the things u can have done in the dental office will do that... so go ahead and try it! plus if it gets too white for u..then u can just discontinue use .... no need to have to finish it off....
i'm not buying that these products arent dangerous. after all, cigarettes are sold in stores and we've known for years that they cause all kinds of health problems (cancer, emphysema, etc etc etc). i always brush my teeth with baking soda. why do you say that it's harmful? oprah winfrey uses baking soda to brush her teeth with, and that lady is loaded, she could use gold dust to brush her teeth with if she wanted to, ykwim? i dont see how it's harmful. it can actually prevent tooth decay from happening. baking soda is a base, so it can neutralize acids that can eat away at enamel.
Baking soda is not harmful..it is the continues use of HYDROGEON PEROXIDE....that is dangerous..it should only be done once a month..(if ur dipping ur brush in it..) it kills bacteria..and some of that in ur mouth is needed...the so called 'good bacterias' and ur information says it may be a POSSIBLE risk...this is not a proven fact....and the 2 individuals who got this oral cancer and who both used tooth whiteners...they do not tell u if these people smoked..or chewed...or whatever..there could have been other factors...in this equasion sure.. if u use these things all the time...but u use them once a year...that is like saying if u smoke one cigg u will get cancer.... and i said not harmful for ur teeth...noone ever said anything about mouth....plus...the oral b strips glue to ur teeth almost..so none will get in ur mouth... someone always has to find the negative in things.. gloom and doom....everything always has to be bad.... if u use these products once..as directed...you will not get oral cancer...
oh...peroxide is bad for ur teeth? oops....i used 2 use it everyday...or at least every other day..maybe ill jus stick 2 baking soda now!
Ok..i don't wanna fight either.... Sure there can be a negative side to everything i guess.. i generally stay away from that... i dunno.. i'm sorry ... no use in arguing about it.. i'll let ya'll know when it's been proven....since i work in a dental office i am required to stay up to date on all that good info....
Rar1013...........question for you since you know about teeth....... Since you said that the whitening strips will make your teeth sensitive, I am wondering if I should still use them right now since I have quite a few bad cavities and my teeth are already pretty sensitive on their own.....or should I wait untill I am able to see a dentist about the cavities? I just dont want to make a bad situation worse. Thanks!!!
well, I don't know how it works, and i've never used it. but i'm a natural person. toliet bowls need whitening, not my teeth.
