I've been taking this pill for 2 years now for heavy periods, I'm thinking of coming off it because I've gained weight and I can't manage to shift it, I also have this constant feeling like i'm pregnant (if that makes any sense!) and I suffer with the occasional headache. Only problem is I REALLY don't want to go back to the painful periods, I still suffer with pain but it only lasts two days as opposed to 7 or more which makes it more bearable. When you come off the pill do your periods get any better? Or do they just go back to the way they were? Should I try switching to another pill? Thanks! :)

i would recommend switiching to another pill. I started the pill for the first time when I was 18 and have been on several different ones for various reasons. My main reasons for switching were that some were too weak and I would get breakthrough bleeding and then one that I was on for a while gave me horrible migraines. Now I am on Othro-tri-cyclen lo and absolutley love it. It is maybe the 4th different one I have been on in 10 years but it is great. Because I have been on the pill so long my periods last like 3 days and I dont really get cramps. There are so many pills out there that there is one bound to work for you. There are other hormonal methods as well (patch, the ring, the shot ...). I would try another pill or another hormonal method before giving up. Something is bound to work for you. There was one progestin only pill that made my eyes gummy and made me feel sick after i took it so I know what you mean abotu not wanting to feel pregnant all the time. Good luck!
