    Sadly, never buying BP's gas, if I can avoid it, is as far as my feelings on this go.

    If this keeps going, and all that oil escapes into the GOM, then circulates through all the oceans currents. Will anything be able to survive in the seas? If the seas die then won't the land creatures face extinction also? All of this is intertwined, we are all interdependent on the ecological systems to function as a whole. Is it too late for mankind?

    No, the further away, the more dilute. I don't think real damage will occur anywhere other than the Gulf of Mexico.

    Except ... if there is extinction of species in the Gulf, that could have unpredictable effects elsewhere.
