We now have a 2nd location. It's 180 acres, has springs, beaver ponds, granite outcroppings (acres of it standing 150 feet or so into the air), some virgin timber, some that hasnt been cut in 60 years, some in 30 and the rest was cut about 10 years ago.

Only after spending time here at our main spot, and proving that you will be a benefit, will the new location be open as a possibility.

Well, I guess I can dress for it. This thing in New Mexico rather suddenly imploded out of the blue (Driving me nuts as the Dude wont even tell me what the problem is, I think it might be related to his wife somehow, we get along and he might feel threatened by that or something? All he'll say is it just doesn't feel right..). Any sort of cash making opportunities in the area? Gig's with neighbors or "local" crafts shows to sell one's wares? Not looking to make a ton of cash or anything, just enough for basics like heavier clothes and better boots, maybe a vehicle eventually.

And how would that whole process of me heading up from the States work out? Just a non issue or likely involving a ton of paperwork?

I really have no idea what it is like coming up across these days.

You likely won't find a lot of work in the immediate area, but there are a lot of farmers around that need help for haying... picking blueberries can pull some cash in... as for an actualy job though, pickings are slim...

Clothes and shit we can find for you without a huge problem...

There are a couple of local stores that sell handmade stuff from people, but I have little idea what they are like. However I do know someone who is very into that stuff and could tell you what you needed to know.

Cool beans, I'd prefer the occasional gig to a normal job anyway and they would likely pay in cash, would make it hard getting project's done around the homestead. Is there any Greyhound bus service to the area? It's my only option for getting around these days unfortunately.

Well, if you are using the link I sent you I wouldnt be surprised, seems it was for the canadian greyhound.

You'll need to check with the US one for departure.

even if someone had a trunk with them I would still consider picking them up and giving a ride...theres plenty of trucks and minivans here...

...the things that ruin a hitchers chances with me is if they appear dirty...if they are smoking...or if they have a dog

Cool beans, but the 200 lbs was a just a guess. It would be an act of insanity for me to try moving this thing any great distance. I guess the real thing to do is evaluate the wants vs. the needs... But a Backpack would make life so much simpler. Gonna check out the Salvation Army in Albuquerque and see if they could hook me up or something.

By measurement I'm pretty much at seam stretching capacity with those :D
But a backpack wold make life so much easier.
Found an interim gig at a Carnival in Longmont Colorado so I think I'm gonna do that for a bit and pull some cash together so I can grab some traveling essentials and maybe a tent & sleeping bag while I'm at it. Just trying to check around and see if this place is a decent gig or if it's a hellhole before I make that final call.

cross in nigara falls, have a return ticket to whatever is on your id leaving from niagara falls, make sure you have photo id government and a coloberating piec of id. they say you need a passport to cross but thats only true for an entry into the united states...and no they dont strand americans in canada because you dont have a passport they just tell you to bring it next time....

I have had many friends come up ..DO NOT say anything about commune, tribe, work extended stay...you are coming up to visit your old friend ton who recently bought land and invited you to stay for a week. have his address andcontact inof with you and a coloberating story incase they call at the border.

dress well and clean for the crossing and do not mention hitchhiking. caryy absolutely no parahenilia no rolling papers pipes screens ANYTHING too many people think they will get away caue its only rolling papers...

these guards have no reason to let you in....they are looking for reasons why NOT to let you in....so dont expect them to be understanding all they say is fuck off.

make sure you have at least 100 dollars for each day you have proof of planning to be in canada, ...PROOF of, if your return ticket ( which is ESSENTIAL ) says a week then have 700 in the bank and 100 on ya.

    good luck

    peace
    drew

    peace
