    Hello -

I was just wondering if any of you have ever quit smoke for a significant amount of time (for probation or for your own) and what your experience has been.

I started smoking pot when I was 14. By 15 I was a multi times a day smoker. I have smoked heavily for about seven years. Recently for personal reasons I stopped smoking pot, cigarettes, drinking alcohol and using all drugs.

It has been 101 days today.

Man do I feel good. I have never felt this good in my life. I've started working out and running. I'm even going to run a marathon (26.2 miles) this fall.

I had only quit for maybe a day or two in the past and it was horrible. However after I got past my first month this time I really felt my life had changed for the better.

    Thoughts?

that's good for you man. i started when i was 14. smoked pretty much daily by 16. i'll be 25 next month. i've quit for maybe 6 months at times, but not for a few years. the longest i've quit for in 2009 was like 12 or 14 days...
i don't smoke cigs, i rarely drink, but i do enjoy psychedelics. i'm a pothead, but i think i should give it up, and i think i will stop smoking before i stop tripping.
i also have a vaporizer now, so at least it's healthier

I'm firmly against kiddos being daily smokers, so good for you. :)

I quit until my oncologist said no more alcohol or hard stuff. Marijuana is better for me at this point. Before that, I guess I'd gone a couple years.

I smoke on special occasions but I stopped smoking heavily 2 years ago. I wouldn't necessarily say I 'feel' better not smoking because I find marijuana to be extremely pleasant and chill but I'm certainly healthier and more active. Alcohol was the one I'm really glad I stopped using, still use psychedelics though which I find very easy to control usage wise and don't really plan on stopping anytime soon.

    Regular smoker from 16-23

I used to smoke everyday for about a year and I will say it defiantly showed me a different perspective of life but it seems that now I have kind of integrated it into my normal (sober?) awareness. I smoke when I will enjoy it, otherwise I do not hesitate to pass up a opportunity. I am going to fast on my birthday though, for an undefined period of time.

    Will be exciting :)
