Yeah, it's called the blue ringed octopus and the world's most venomous animal.

Just saw that special on PBS(or OPB) about cuttlefish. Most amazing creatures anywhere. They change color and shape at will and flash sequentially like neon lights and mesmerize their prey. Amazing creatures as are octopi.(pusses?)

I remember a Popeye cartoon where Bluto punched an octopus in the face and it started crying.

Ringo Starr liked octopus. Ringo's response to the story about octopuses was "This was the most beautiful thing I ever heard." :)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopus%27s_Garden

"The idea for the song came about when Ringo Starr was on a boat belonging to comedian Peter Sellers in Sardinia in 1968. He ordered fish and chips for lunch, but instead of fish he got squid (it was the first time he'd eaten squid, and he said, "It was OK. A bit rubbery. Tasted like chicken.")[3] Then the boat's captain told Ringo Starr about how octopuses travel along the sea bed picking up stones and shiny objects with which to build gardens.[4] The Let It Be film included a scene in which George Harrison is shown helping Ringo Starr work the song out on piano."

Back home we have a lot. I remember walking on the beach when I was little, really early in the morning, and loads of baby ones had been washed up onto the shore :(

The only good eight legged creature is a dead eight legged creature.

    Except for Sleipnir.

I think they're freaky, but cool. I would love to see a giant octopus!!!! I often think about what creatures lie that far down... further than we can go.

Not bad, Hotwater. But I'd like to see a horror movie called 'It Came From RT'.

There was a scene on the old Flintstones cartoon where an octopus was at an amusement park giving rides. There was a kid on each of the arms going round in circles. Heh. :)
