In a month or two, my friend's boy toy is moving here from Texas. Apparently he's a professional piercer and he's willing to pierce my tongue webbing for free. I'm a little bit on the fence--I want it done like mad, but I'll only be 17 then (can't get it done in a parlour) and my dad wouldn't approve. So can someone help me out a bit here? Am I correct in thinking that it would be an easy piercing to conceal from my parents? (Even if I do wait until I'm 18, they won't be pleased and will probably threaten to stop funding school and whatnot, but I'm pretty sure they won't actually do that.) Would it present any complications for singing or playing the flute or anything? Is it extremely prone to infection? Finally, would you recommend waiting until I'm 18 and pay for it, or get it when I'm 17 for free?
"Finally, would you recommend waiting until I'm 18 and pay for it, or get it when I'm 17 for free" Wait and pay is what I would recommend. You'll get plenty of people on here who'll tell you that you can do it no problem in your home, and they're probably right. However, a shop with an autoclave, non-porous surfaces, dedicated sinks, and a reputation are more likely to keep safety standards. Also, you'll have some place to go back to if there is a problem. Honestly, its your choice, but the "safest" route is to go to a reputable and established piercer.
.... its a tongue webbing piercing!! its very VERY easy to hide, but still everyone Ive known with it end up speaking funny with it, a lisp persay on a more personal note I dont see the point in the webbing piercing, its not even visible...
i almost got a toungue webbing piercing. but i ended up getting my belly button(the bottom and top) done instead. i like the webbing for the fact that you can hide them easily.
[ B ] - is the lisp permanent? Or does it go away after a few days/a week? I love tongue webbing piercings because you can't really see them. I like getting piercings for myself, because they make me feel good. I like that it's like a secret and nobody knows unless I tell them. Nova - Why'd you switch?
Well i had the top done already, and i always wanted the bottom done as well. I went to the piercer with my friend, and i chickened out. So i just did my belly button. which i love btw haha.
dude every one i know with a tongue piercing has ahabit of clickng it and it fuckes up your teeth f u get that habit-----in prison all the young dudes were slicing their tongues like a snake just with thread----man that was a trip---they were even slicing their dicks and putting in metal balls or piecsof dominoes in theri fucking dicks---now that ws really tripppy
well I only knew one person who had it for an extended period the others got annoyed after two months or so and took it off, but the girl who had it for a little less than a year always had the lisp... actually I think shes still a bit angry at me for making fun of her all the time...
Venatrix, did you end up getting it done? do they stay in permanently, because i've heard you can get your uvula pierced but that it ends up being pushed out because the tissue is too soft or some shit like that, and it seems to me like it would be the same deal with the webbing of your tongue. just curious haha -Ky
dude if hes a pro its cool but if he aint i wouldnt do it theres nerve endings in your tongue that go to your brain and if you hit one can fuck you up bad like even kill you
Speaking from personal experience getting your webbing pierced is safe and should heal easily. Its also extremely easy to conceal so your parents shouldn't ever know. But I do advice you make sure this guy is legit, and hes using all autoclaved supplies, new gloves, etc etc. Healing time is very quick. I personally had no lisp from any of my tongue work. First I had my webbing pierced, then I cut it out completely for a little length, then I scalpelled a 2 gauge barbell into it, then split it in half down the middle and cauterized the inside. All over the course of about 2 years. There are some small veins in your tongue that bleed a bit when cut just like any other part of your body, but no "death/paralyze spot". My tongue has been split for over 3 years now and no problems yet.
o, well i was reading bout peircing my tongue but i heard that you can hit a nerve and it can paralyze or kill u idk thats just wat a dude on yahoo answers said so i decided against it
