Oh, thank God, finally someone who wants to engage in scholarly debate. :D

Middle English refers to the period well after the Norman invasion in 1066, which began the influence of the French language on Anglo-Saxon. If you look further down in your linked reference, you'll see this passage:

"Many M.E. cookery terms came from Anglo-Fr., so perhaps it is related to O.Fr. jarbage 'a bundle of sheaves, entrails...'"

Also check this link on the origin of the -age suffix - from Old French:

    http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2058/whats-the-origin-of-the-suffix-age

    Here's an excerpt:

"The English spelling comes from the Old French, where, in addition to forming several different types of abstract nouns, it was used to form collective nouns. The Old French -age, as I say, was from Latin -aticum. The two spellings may not seem to have much in common at first glance, but linguists have hypothesized the intermediate forms *-adego and *-adjo (the asterisks indicate reconstructed forms). In classical Latin, the use of -aticum was rather restrained, but it was much more common in vulgar Latin."

As for me, I would really like to learn more about vulgar Latin... ;)

I do blame the toast. Just had the most rude taxi driver I have ever met, and lunch took forever to be served. I won't have it tomorrow and see if similar things happen

I have OCD anyways, me and both of of my brothers do

anyways, yeah, I do that. I remember once walking all the way to my girlfriends house around 40 minutes away, then at the last moment over think whether or not I locked the door- long story short I walked the whole way back, even though I knew the door was locked.

My weirdest habits happen in the bathroom. It's all very military, allegedly.

It's a funny thing, just as I was eating my toast of doom the police called my house to talk to me

then I had a small row with my dad, and banged my ankle pretty hard on the door. I honestly think we are on to something here :D

I'll stick things in my nose to make myself sneeze.
I frequently speak to myself but I'm not myself, just pretending to be someone or something else.

My best friend and my mum are like that. Will keep checking the door for ten minutes, then still be asking me if it was shut half an hour later.

I have routines, but I think it's more out of habit than anything.

I lose my scroll function on my laptop after watching movies with windows media player...thats about as close a problem I can think of...there was an update for firefox a few days ago but Ive had this problem quite a while...putting computer into sleep mode then turning it back on seems to cure it and is way quicker than doing a complete restart

Tony is a gentle tiger, can't see him doing anything mean. Just wants to give you a hug!

But, Coco yeah, I think it could get a little crazy. Never liked him much.

I just played fetch and sat on the grass with the dog licking my face. There are parts of that I liked.
