There are some very defensive smokers here.

 

Most people find one way or another to back out of my arguments, I don't mind.

I'm not hung up on the fumes, I was merely trying to point out, that if you want me to give up cigarettes for your health, then we have to be consistent. Personally, I think we could be driving electric cars but aside from that we do not need to be creating most of the fumes that society creates.

You say we need cars fine, but if you want me to quit smoking then people better stop driving when they don't need to. If you want me to quit smoking, people better stop watching Idol, big brother or whatever bullshit that they watch. Because I tell you one thing, people do NOT need to be watching television, typing on hipforums playing Xbox etc. any more then I need to smoke. All of these bullshit activities use electricity and electricity is created by burning off fossil fuels. You know what that means? A hell of a lot of people are literally destroying the planet with fumes... but oh no it's the evil cigarettes that are the problem!

Of course, I don't need to argue against any of these activities because I'm not the one claiming anyone doesn't have the right to do what they're already doing (in terms of the issues pertaining to this argument).

Don't be a fucking retard, I wasn't suggesting that smokers should criticize non smokers for not smoking. I was just pointing out your bullshit statement about smokers being patronizing is indeed bullshit, because smokers aren't the ones busying themselves bothering non smokers.

You say we are the ones who are patronizing, when you concede that it wouldn't even make sense for smokers to be patronizing, how stupid is that?

That sure is patronizing, of course that doesn't exclude the previous things i mentioned from being patronizing.

But while we're pretending that I'm thin skinned, you are the one that said smokers are patronizing, so don't try and claim something implicitly patronizing is not patronizing when you said otherwise first.

Basically on one hand you are saying the word "patronizing" is acceptable when it suits your argument, but when it suits my argument, the statement must be overtly patronizing for me to call it that? make up your fucking mind you stupid twit.

As I have already clearly stated, my attitude towards my habit is not the same as my attitude towards self righteous pricks.

In other, simpler, words, I do care about my health, I know smoking is bad for me. That by no means I concede that I should feel guilty or should feel required to explain my self to the likes of you.

You have a hell of a funny way of asking. Having said that, what reason is there to do anything? What standard would my reasoning have to conform to, to be acceptable to you?

What reason is there to do anything bad? Honestly I'm not in the mood to describe the time in my life in which i became addicted to cigarettes, but why should I? Again, I have already said this, I am an imperfect human being, I know just who I am and I don't need to give you any explanation for why I smoke any more then you need to explain to me what pointless reason you have to partake in any of the activities you do that cost the planet clean air.

If I cant smoke a joint at the gas station while pumping gasoline.. I dont see how anyone can smoke tobacco and i am a smoker of both..

I also cant tolerate an Adult smoking anything around a child, or a child being around running smoking engines, It Pisses me off and ill say something, your kid or not, Im likely the one to be paying for the kids health care anyways, G-d damn fucking welfare recipients..

 

Thanks for backing me up faelix and co, it's not like I am telling people not to smoke. Go ahead and fuck your health if you want to, just don't fuck mine up in the process is all I request, and I don't think that is too much to ask.

 

i'm glad people cant smoke in pubs, i hate bein in a smoke filled room and smellin like smoke when i go home, smell it off my clothes and hair and everything, its horrible. In all the clubs and pubs i go to theres a smokin area outside, but theyre all sheltered and have benches and heat lamps and stuff.

I dont live in the city anymore, so i have fresh air outside

And this thread is about the law on smoking. Like I say I support people being able to smoke in pubs! That's what they are for. If I choose to go to a pub, I choose to put up with it.

If I choose to walk down the street I shouldn't have to put up with it.

i agree, though. i can't stand walking with my kids through a cloud of smoke to get into a restaraunt. when i smoke, i wander off to the parking lot because i can't stand the guilt of people getting my smoke in the face. just because i'm addicted doesn't mean i should "shoot up" in the doorway. in most places here there are specific laws about how where you can smoke freely.

well, it was a poor effort, to be fully honest. i'm kinda glad it went. blew the flow.

 

I cannot stand that either. It's just rude. Yesterday at work some gross looking dude with his little girl came in to my work to order some pizza. While they were waiting for it to cook it went outside with her and was smoking a cigarette while she was standing right there. That just grosses me out. People are scum.

 

Yeah see when you see folk smoking round children, that really fucking gets on my goat. These people are scum bags alright. I used to have to put up with this shit when I was growing up, I once faked an asthma attack on a train to get away from the smoke, bastards wouldn't even let me go outside the carraige which was totally filled my smoke so dense you could see it. So I pretended to be choking and then they all started panicking and thought I was going to die haha served the cunts right at the time. I hate my family.

 

We have legs for transportation. What is practical is for the greatest part, what you practice. We do not need internal combustion engines.
