I think this was written about 2005. Although it says "The President's Real Goal...," I believe that Bush had his own religious motivations, but he was a dunce and a lackey and his administration ran the war in Iraq with completely different motivations than he could even comprehend.

I'm sure that I stated clearly enough that Bush's intentions were not the same as his Administration's.

The reality of the results of any action may or may not indicate the intentions of that action. My intent is to win this debate, But, winning is likely in the eyes of readers and somewhat beyond my control. You think I lost the last debate, do you also think that was my intention? According to your theory, and statements, my intent was to be "ambiguous."

Reality itself is very often "ambiguous," being seen one way by one person and differently by others. If this wasn't true, we would all agree.

That's why I posted an article written closer to the inception of the Iraq war by someone who works for a newspaper.

What you've posted is a lot of material to go through. Today is a holliday here, so it will take me a bit of time to get to all of it. I will, and I will post my response as soon as I have one.

I got that at the end. However, to the casual reader it validates what they think IS (or was) occuring in reality.
You never seem to qualify your thoughts till the end and only when pressed.
    I gathered that.
    I wasn't taking score.

It just felt your thoughts could be read two ways. Both validating a persons view that IS what is occuring but not being upfront that is not what was/is occuring.
I don't know what you actually think away from trying to make a good argument.

Working with those you are supposed to be at war with is not ambiguous.

4th of July. I've heard about that.
It wasn't anything to respond to.
    It was just further reading.
    Respond if you like.

Sorry about that. I was responding to a discussion of "Real Reasons..." for war, not reality or results. It was only when you brought up the "reality" angle that I felt a need to qualify my statements, although, in reality, many Muslims also thought/still think this is a religious war.

I usually say what I believe.

I'd say that's the definition of ambiguous.

This is really the better debate because it goes to the intent of a wider range of actors, many of whom remain on the stage from one Administration to the next.

I'm not just talking about this thread.
I'm talking about your general approach.
I could make an argument the real reasons were because McDonalds wanted to gain a foot-hold in the Middle East.
You are not responding, you are posing the question.
A question you might know is false.

I would ask: If the intention was X why did Y occur?
What is it worth talking about reason Y if X actually occured?

And your point is? I could say that one should not open the champaign until the guests arrive, and you shouldn't tell them the ending of the movie before you put the tape in.

    Anyway, I'm open to suggestions.

Maybe so you can learn from your mistakes and do something different next time. My intent was to get to the dance on time (X), I drove fast (Z), and I got a ticket instead (Y). The next time I want X, and don't want Y, I won't do Z.

don't bother debating this fellow, he's a troll for the israelis and has been peddling his support for the wars on the middle east for years.

he is motivated to do this because of his belief in jehovah the homicidal deity of the old testament.
