I already know the story of Siddhartha Gotama and a little bit about Buddhism. Would you still recommend it to me?

'Eastern philosophy' is a wide and diverse area. There are different philosophies from various parts of the east, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism etc.
Probably the best thing is to look at the basic texts of these systems.

If you were an oriental person, you wouldn't really expect to find one book which would explain 'western philosophy', which again, is a huge area of very different types of ideas. And just as in the west, there are ideas which are complete opposites, (Christianity and scientific materialism for example) so in the east.

Zen Flesh, Zen Bones is great if you're at all interested in Zen Buddhism.
