need help buying a bong

wow, this thread is filled with the shitiest of replies. an acrylic bong with a glass slide is NOT the same as a quality glass on glass bong with percolators, etc. neither is a glass bong with rubber o-ring. a bubbler is not a fucking bong.

all bongs are not created equal. as with most things, you get what you pay for. now i'm not even saying you have to go and spend 6 or $700 on a Toro, or 3-$400 on a Roor...you can find quality bongs from other brands (sorry i don't really have specific recommendations) or even from local "no name" glass blowers.

my bong was $80, has ice pinches, a DOME perc (tree perc is better), and a diffused downstem. 100% glass. it's only about a foot tall though.

just look for a bong that meets your specifications (perc, ice pinches) and make sure it's quality. THICK, make sure especially that the joints are sturdy and not thinner than the rest of the bong. make sure that the bottom is thick, and that it stands completely steady.

there are some brands like Roor that are always high quality like i've described above, and some no name ones that you can find too.

I don't get the replies either, well some I do, but not ones that are telling her to buy cheap bongs. You really get what you pay for when it comes to glass. The more you pay the better the quality control of the company, and even then some are better than others.

I bought a bong for 50 bucks and it was fuckin awesome. I don't think I would spend 3-400 bucks on a bong, honestly. I'd rather just get a decent priced, local bong.

 

im not looking for something that will "get the job done". i want something that is quality, i have plenty of other things that will get the job done cheaply.

honestly if i wanted a cheap bong why would i go through all the trouble of making this thread?i would have just bought a cheap bong somewhere without giving it any thought.

im looking at ALT, i found a bunch on there that i like.
the only problem is a lot of the ones ive found that i like are 5mm, which im afraid might be too thin, or just dont say the thickness, which im also nervous about if i were to buy it online, i'd want to know how thick the glass is... maybe i could look up those specific ones i found and see if its written somewhere else on another site or something.


i went through the whole ALT site i dont know how i missed that sovereignty glass one, i'll definitely consider that one.

and i forgot about the chico kush site, i'll look through that as well.
i'll probably end up just getting one online, cause i know if i look at a headshop prices will be so much higher.

ya if you were refering to me i never said a bubbler was a 'fucking bong'. i said it wud be a good alternative to a bong if you want a water pipe.

 

Bubblers are the best fucking bongs, especially acrylic.

 

Thicker glass is better because sometimes people tend to drop them. Decide if you want one with a carb, carbs are the ones with the hole on the side for the smoke to slip through when the bong is full of smoke. Its annoying so I'd say one without a carb. That way you can just pull the slide out and get a quick hit. An ice bong is kind of fun! Ice sits in the bottom above the water in the ice catcher an it cools down the smoke . Grasscity has nice bongs.

I personally would wait and buy a vaporizer. But you've decided on a bong, so have fun!

I also hear the Double chamber glass odyssey is good too

 

well she was asking for a QUALITY piece. not another cheap, shitty one. it was pretty clear to me that she meant a glass bong.
whatever though, it's cool that you offered some advice. i don't disagree that an acrylic with a glass slide, is much better than an acrylic with a metal slide and carb hole. but i did say that a glass on glass bong is way better, regardless of what you said previously
