    Hello,

How about a new thread to start a list of movies and books that remind us of DMT breakthrough experiences? i'll start:

Of course the classic stargate sequence in "2001: A Space Odyssey" is extremely psychedelic.

i am a huge fan of the movie "Renegade" known as "Blueberry" in Europe. Gotta love a psychedelic western where the antagonist and protagonist wind up fighting their final battle laid out flat on their backs, catatonic on huge doses of ayahuasca in an ancient temple. The ayahuasca breakthrough imagery is incredibly spot on. Ending 20 minutes is unbelivable. Symbology within the movie is fantastic.

i also just discovered "The Fountain." What a beautiful movie! What wonderful use of the language of film! i need to watch this again!. Beautiful Aronofsky film - clearly he's smoked spice.

i really like books by the psychedelic mathematician author, Rudy Rucker. In particular, "Postsingular." The second chapter (i believe) is incredibly DMT. "White Light" is also good. There's another one i cannot recall right now, but i'll add it if it comes back.

Okay, here's the start. Hope to see more.

Okay, i finally remembered the other Rudy Rucker book. Do NOT let the title scare you off - this is a real fun read.

Having never done dmt, but hoping to in the near future, my entry should be taken with a grain of salt. Surely though, Altered States should be somewhere on the list, what with the mind-blowing ayahuasca ceremony. Sweet jesus did my mind have to have a hard refresh several times while I was watching that on psychs. I mean, the sandstorm scene? *brain stalls*

Wow, interesting. i haven't seen that movie in like 30 years or something and i cannot remember the aya ceremony. Were there visuals? All i can remember from that movie is a guy tripping in a float tank and tapping into devolution or something, turning into a more primitive kind of man/monster or something. i'm going to have to check that one again soon.

Just rented Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. ALL of my friends who know i'm a DMT freak say i need to see it. Can hardly wait.

A lot of the philosophies and ideas in "I Heart Huckabees" was in sync with what DMT revealed to me.

DMT: The Spirit Molecule- Rick Strassman is one that comes to mind. I couldn't tell you why this reminds me of DMT:rolleyes:

    Any Terrence Mckenna book.

    Avatar
reminds me of Ayahuasca with the Tree of Souls or whatever it is they seek in that movie.

They drink peyote tea in "Blueberry", not ayahuasca. Still an awesome movie.

I highly suggest "Waking Life". Same director as "A Scanner Darkly" and is all about dreams.

Sure didn't look like the peyote tea i've drunk. Yeah, they show peyote cactii as well as San Pedro. i also noticed the Vine (banisteriopsis caapi) and Psychotria Viridis.

Also, just to be pedantic (& mentioned below) the imagery is PURE DMT (That metaphorical trip where he goes to the land of the dead, meets his love, is forgiven by her and forgives himself - i've had trips like that on DMT but never on Mescaline.). Time of trip too. Every time i've taken peyote, san pedro resin or mescaline acetate it's lasted 8-14 hours, but when i consume aya analogues (such as pharma) it lasts 2-5 hours.

Peace tho - i'd be the first to admit that i see what i'm looking for and perceptions are not trustworthy.

I guess it ultimately doesn't matter all that much and I have not seen the movie but I saw the 'blueberry' trip scene and that looks alot more like an ayahuasca trip than a mescaline trip. The super refined patterning visual designs and serpent all point to Dmt to me.

Thanks for this link! It's the best one with the most footage i've seen to date. Can't believe i forgot to mention this one - i've been waiting for it for like 18 months or something. Can hardly wait . . .

I just don't think drinking ayahuasca would be historically accurate though. What native american tribe is supposed to be represented in the movie? Does B. caapi and P. virdis grow in the states? I assumed it was peyote tea because of the shot of the peyote cactus in the cave.

I know nothing of the movie , so you may be right but You usually do a shot of ayahuasca too. The serpent, digital esque fractals and bugs and stuff' is more represenative of the dmt trance then the mescaline trance. Aren't peyote buttons normally just consumed whole in ceremonies anyways?

LOL! i agree 100% with you! But, i don't view this as an historic movie. More as a truly unique, psychedelic western, pure fiction, but pure inspiration.

Now having said that, there are huge numbers of Native American tribes in Central and South America that have been using ayahuasca for centuries if not millenia. i cannot name them. Yes, b. caapi and p. viridis grow in the rain forest environment.

    Peace & Love,
