The last snowfall of the year finally melts away and the sun comes out hearing the ground after the bitter cold winter. The grass looks as if someone painted over it with a beautiful shade of green. Birds fly over my head after being in the south all winter, chirping a song that sounds like a thousand beautiful chimes, and being glad to be back in their homes. I touch the first drop of dew on a new piece of spring grass. The fragrance in the air is the smell of the newly blossomed flowers. New leaves are on the branches of trees that have been bare for months. Baby animals see their first look at nature, being amazed by how much places there are to explore. Everyone wakes up and walk outside taking in the smell of spring, with a warm breeze crossing their faces, knowing more is to come the rest of the season. Finally, the cold, long winter is behind us. We welcome with open arms, a new spring.

Thanks for reading hope you all liked it!

    Peace,
    Shelby

I liked it. The sentence I highlighted is on its way to becoming a great example of alliteration. :) A small piece of advice if you don't mind, it could have used some more descriptive adjectives. It was very nice though.

Yea, Robert Frost is fantastic. I don't know where you'd find it, I can't find it online, but if you remember look up the poem, 'City park merry-go-round' by Eli Mandle. It's amazing and the imagery is awesome.

Ok here is a poem I really like its from the movie a walk to remember if a yone has ever seen it its from the scene when Jamie and landon are in the hospital

Love is always patient and kind
    it is never jealous
    love is never
    boastful or conceited
it is never rude or selfish
    it does not take offence
    and is never resentful
    love takes no pleasure
    in other people's sins,
    but delights in the truth
it is always ready to excuse
    to trust, to hope,
    and to enure
    whatever comes
    a walk to remember

I Corinthians 13:4: 'Love is always patient and kind

It's from the Holy Bible :)

There's amazing prose and poetry in the bible; psalms and proverbs

One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. 5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth [1] to his place where he arose. 6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits. 7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return [2] again. 8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. 11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

    Ecclesiastes 1 is fantastic

I finally found a copy of this poem that I copied down from English last year.

    It's an amazing villanelle

City Park Merry-Go-Round By: Eli Mandel

Freedom is seldom what you now believe
Mostly you circle round and round the park
Night follows day, these horses never leave

Like children love whatever you conceive
See then your world as lights whirled in the dark
Freedom is seldom what you now believe

Your world moves up or down or seems to weave
And still you pass you pass the same ringed mark
Night follows day, these horses never leave

You thought your past was here, you might retrieve
That wild illusion whirling in the dark
Freedom is seldom what you now believe

Sick on that circle you begin to grieve
You wish the ride would end you could escape the park
Night follows day, these horses never leave

Mostly you circle round and round the park
You'd give your life now to be free to leave
Freedom is seldom what you now believe
Night follows day, these horses never leave

This poem is full of fantastic examples of poetic devices. It's imagery is great as well. His use of alliteration really makes you feel like you're on a ride.
