GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galazy trailer is out! My friend saw it with National Treasure and told me, and I watched it on the official website: hitchhikers.movies.go.com It's HILARIOUS! Scroll way down if you want me to tell you about it: K E E P S C R O L L I N G D O W N F O R A T R A I L E R S P O I L E R O-kay! It opens with the gleam of a star in the sky and the sun rising over the edge of the Earth. A recording of "Wonderful World" is playing as the sun rises, and as the song gets too the word "World" the earth explodes. As the pieces fly towards the camera, the words "DON'T PANIC" appear in the screen. As the debris clears, the words "THE MOST ASTONISHING ADVENTURE IN THE UNIVERSE BEGINS WHEN THE WORLD ENDS" appear and the thumb-and-planet insignia is formed by the stars. It solidifies onto the cover of a book labeled "THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY" and under the title, the words appear "THE ANSWERS TO WHAT'S OUT THERE ARE IN HERE" The movie comes out May 6 2005.
I'm sorry, but I'm disappointed by the trailer. I don't think that this book should become a movie...It'll ruin the images of the characters for me. Also, the movie will be all pop-culture-like and will have a whole new following of people who have never even read the books. Also, when the earth blows up...where the hell are the Vogon's bull-dozers???
They made it into a mini series that was released in 1981. I thought that it was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the new movie because it looks like it will be quite different. Definitely more modern. Ever since I heard that Mos Def was playing Ford Prefect I've been psyched about this movie.
wow, i doubt it can be as good as the book, tv series and radio series. it's not possible, i have a bad feeling HHGTTG is going to be ruined
hmm...I've never thought of Ford as black. It might be cool, but still, my vision of these characters will die the minute I see it.
That's true. Whenever I see a movie that's been based on a book or video game or something, I just try to forget what I know about the characters and watch the movie as a seperate entity. Thought sometimes it's really hard to do.
The BBC adaptation was great. I've neve ractually read the books, but I've seen the BBc series, and it was great. I can't wait for this film! My only qualm is Bill Nighy as slartibartfast - Will taht actually work? i guess i gotta wait six months to find out!
i have the most horrible...horrible feeling that this is going to be a terrible terrible film. I really liked the bbc series of it. the theme tune for it was jsut ace. and the books voice. everything about it was just so perfect. maybe it's just because i don't want to see another memory from my childhood ruined...i really hope it will be good...but i seriously doubt it...
