Hippie is just a word..who we are? the feelings of a people a tribe if you will.. a realization of the illusion we choose to share together, to make it manifest into our desires, all of us each their own manifestations comming together with a common ground.. a good for the all, a love thy neighbor as you love thy self consciousness. What we bring to the table is either comsumed or passed on, according to our needs..our concept is our lifestyle and what we hold as our truths..as we learn we grow and learn in different ways.. some fail to learn and have to come right back and do over till they get it.. eventualy we all will get it and we will all be together in spirit.it is part of our learning, to be confronted with obsticals to over come.. this is what makes us stronger as a whole.. we cannot judge one another for we know not which lesson the other is here to learn..we all stumble and must pick ourselves up and continue on our journey, sometimes with a hand from a brother or sister..Sending out love instead of discord will get us further down the road to evalution and our endevor to perfect ourselves. We get what we give in this form. Depending on which level of consciousness we have reached in our personal evalution we can only maintain what we have learned and try to build a better understanding of what is required of us and help others on the way to their own evalution. not by pushing but gently in a loving way are we to over come the trials and tribulations we are to encounter on our journey.. each encounter uniting us in strenght and joining us in love and community. comtempt breeds comtempt.. love breeds love..we are free to choose what it will be. To read or see or even feel the trash that surrounds me only makes me stand true to my HIPPINESS and rejoyce that I have least come far enough that I am not on that level of consciousness and have evolved to a higher spiritual network where the ALL resides..we all grow towards what we are to become as our souls are being perfected. it can be no other way..love is it.. love for the ALL is the way to understanding..

 

The guy (or girl, but i will call him/her he for the purpose of this post) who wrote this is the kind of guy who is the most dangerous. His mind is far too closed to people that aren't the same, people with a vision which isn't of todays society. This is the kind of person who if they get into some sort of powerful position, they will abuse their power to abuse those who are different, and this can extend beyond "hippies" and can in extreme cases become anti-semetism. This is not the kind of thing we need in the world as there are already enough nut jobs running around in power.

Just because hippie ideals may be difficult to acheive doesnt mean to sya that they are impractical or impossible!

And i dont mean to discriminate, buit when this dude goes on about hippie fasion, why doesnt he just consider the Burbury hat??? Hardly the most pretty item of clothing that seems to have takes the u.k. by storm, is it now?!?

 

I always had short hair and I don't plan to let it grow, and I love hippies.
So don't generalise.

 

I have short hair too alphacolor & proud of it! But anyways this ignorant guy who wrote that, well the fact that he would even include the long hair and the fashion, is beyond me b/c any1 who truly believes in at least some of things of the hippie philosophy knows that materalistic & shallows aspects of ones life such as those are sooo minor! This site alone would prove to anyone that hippies all over this world look different & like slightly different styles. But where are common ground starts is our beliefs, tolerance, understanding, fun stories that we tell that we can all relate to, & the dicussions about the music that moves each of our souls. And still, even when talking about those things we all have slightly different outlooks! In the end i think this guy is just very bitter about the fact that he can't get beyond the capilistic society that consumes most people. He's very jealous that he can't look within himself & believe in peace & love. Instead he has to look outside himself for happiness...leaving him very empty...leading him to write that g_d aweful piece on the internet.

Hey now, im a shorthair.... actually a bald head, i shave my head, but it doesnt make me non-hippie, hippie is a way of life and thinking, not how one has their hair, or clothes or whatever.
