These guys are the very pinnacle of ska, yes? Don't they deserve any love?

For the record, I fucking love every track they've recorded.

While I love Streetlight Manifesto, and have seen them 7 times...I think you discredit the genre when you refer to them as the pinnacle of ska. Streetlight is hardly "ska" anymore.

Haha, sorry to be a ska tool...you should check out modern bands like The Slackers or Deals Gone Bad if you want to hear the current pinnacle of ska.

I don't really like 3rd wave too much most of the time, but I def. prefer S.M. to Reel Big Fish or anything like that.

I have their three albums and the acoustic tracks, as well.

Favorite song-that one punk-ish one from keasbey nights, whatever it's called.

I've got three of their albums, im not a fan of the Ska today known as third wave. I love traditional ska, but for third wave these guys are brilliant. Every track is brilliant.

My thoughts exactly. You are the only other person in the world who seems to agree with me. They just hit the spot every time.

I'm not a big fan of Ska, but I do like Streetlight Manifesto. Their music has taken some getting used to, but now I think that it is pure awesomeness.

What actually got me into the band was one of the more recent songs "Would You Be Impressed?". I really liked the latin sound of it, but I have branched outward.

I especially love the way they use the saxophone. Way better than rock saxophone!

Every fan of Streetlight is a big fan of Streetlight, it seems. Until you go to a concert you feel like the only fan that knows every single word to every song but when you get there, the whole place is singing and skanking along.

Thats why I love Streetlight Manifesto so much, and A Better Place A Better Time is one of the best songs Ive ever heard.

Their first three albums all had a very different style to them. The first one being a more punk/ska feel, the second being a jazz tone, then the third being marching/latin like melodies. The marching style mixed with latin is what gives that pirate feel

    99SOTR anyone? Thoughts on that?

There's too much ska and too much pop-punk for me. Too much balance between the two, and the sound just doesn't come off as appealing.

I like the Less Than Jake punk-with-horns, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones ska-with-punk-attitude; but Streetlight Manifesto just sounds awkward to me.

You've never heard a big band in a real small venue.

Last night I got to see them live.

It was my first concert ever, and it was a different experience for me, but they were AWESOME. Just as good live as they are on the albums. That bari sax player is amazing. Really, they're all amazing, but I'm a huge fan of low woodwinds and that guy just really knows how to play!

I had a total fangirl moment when I walked up to the front of the venue and heard them practicing in there. "OMG! I can hear them... they're in there!!!!" lol.
