ok so i used the twist and rip method, no wax, no bands. i just left it at that. oh and i have silky, thick curly hair. here's some pics i took today, dreads are 2 days old. how do they look? oh and some of them are kinda like semi braids, is that ok? will they turn into dreads still like that cuz i dont wanna redo those ones. ok i hope these arent too big or too much, different angles i guess, enjoy. oh and i'll update this with new pics like every month for you guys.

nice one bro - you have great hair texture for dreads already, just leave them alone and they'll be amazing
i wouldn't worry. as long as youre happy with the size and sectioning i would leave em. twist and rip doesn't have to be perfect and sometimes it looks a bit like a braid.
alright cool, im happy with them and when some dont look like braids anymore i'll be even happier haha
thanks, how long should i wait to wash them for the first time? i'm gonna use the baking soda and acv way.
Whenever you smell the fresh aroma of funk coming from your head. Or, whenever you feel ya hair is dirty.
Washing Is A Routine Your'e Going To Have To Work Out For Yourself. All Depends On The Amount Of Oil Your Scalp Produces, And Wether You Work In A Dirty Environment. Just To Give You A Rough Guide, This Is What I Have Done For The Last 11 Months... I Took A 1-25 Litre Bottle Of Diet Coke, Drank All The Coke, Drilled A Quarter Inch Hole In The Cap, Bought A Small Plastic Funnel, And A 1kg Box Of Baking Soda.. I Remove The Cap, Insert Funnel, And Tip About Half A Tablespoon Of Baking Soda Into The Funnel. Fill To About Three Quarters With Warm Water, Replace Cap, Place Finger Over Hole, And Gently Shake, Removing Finger Every So Often To Release The Pressure Build Up. Climb Into Shower, Lightly Dampen Hair, Then Invert Bottle Over Head And Squeeze About Four Dreads At A Time, Making Sure To Work The Liquid Through Them. I Never Massage Them, Just Pat My Head Repeatedly As I Pour The Liquid Over Them. Then Wash My "Boi Bits" And All The Other Things One Does In A Shower, Then RINSE....RINSE....And RINSE Again. During These 11 Months I Have Had No Itch, No Dandruff, And The Scalp Is Only Producing Enough Oil To Keep It Moist. Hopes This Helps In Some Small Way.... Cheers Glen.
haha alright thanks mani'll probably do something similar. i started out with a big cup filled with warm water, baking soda and acv.
Now I Look Back On That Post, Yes I Did Get A Bit Carried Away With The Details.... I'll Send You A New Tub Of Popcorn In Todays Mail.... Cheers Glen.
