depends whenever I attempt to cook rice it turns out burned and somehow still not done. but if you know how to than I am going to vote yes
The important thing is, do you have soy sauce? If so, then definantly cook the rice... If not, what the hell cook it anyway!
In that case, I think you surely must cook it... Haha I wish I had some food around here... Oh well...
dump rice into boiling water. (ok water doesnt have to be boiling before adding rice, but it has to come to a complete boil soon after). as soon as it has come to a boil; then: cover. turn off heat. (but leave on hot burner. just turn the burner off). alow to set and soak up the water. you need to have enough water for it to soak up to get tender, about twice the volume of the rice dry. after that you can do what you want with it. you can of course, and greatly improve things by doing so, season the water you're going to cook the rice in! i often chop onion and baby carrot into it. and almost always i start the water with chicken bullion and a bit of lemmon. the best time to put in the spices is first, whether boiling or frying, (or baking or ...) before adding the main ingredients to the cooking medium. dill and basil goes good in it, and of course a little pepper, black, red or white. thymne optional. also housan sauce is better then soy on just rice. but usualy rice is to go with something you put over it like you would with mashed potatoes or to have on the side with. a yummi vegitarian main course is a sauce of mushrooms and cheese and a little onion over the top. (this is on serving/eating, AFTER it's cooked as per above first. yes it realy does make better taste to make a sauce seperate from the rice and then put over it to eat. i like jack cheese and a can of tuna in a can of cream of mushroom (undiluted, the cheese is to help rethicken if it gets too watery from getting too hot when heated, the sauce that is. my wifie doesn't care so much for my cream of tuna sauce, though she likes tuna in her mac and cheese. but she likes a cream of mushroom sauce with hamburger in it) i always end up making more rice then we need for what we're having to go with it. but that's no problem because it can always be used with something else later. i can't immagine NOT cooking rice unless you intend not to eat it. (i mean it probably won't hurt you to eat it raw unless you choke on it, which seems not unlikely, but why on earth would you want not to cook it, and if you didn't have the means to cook it, rice would not then be my first choice) =^^= .../\...
too many instructions. see what gets me is that we don't have the little things that say high medium and low so I am confused and than when it says medium low I just lose it.
that might be the reason...but I still have french toast down. I haven't lost that skill yet. maybe someday my skills will progress to rice. My mom got me a kids cookbook last year I swear one day i am going to open it and learn how to cook.
i should have used different colors to seperate the "instructions" from the commentary. the only "instructions part is: 1) rice to water 2) bring to boil 3) let steep (like you would a tea bag) (you don't have to worry about what the knob says on the burner, you don't even have to have one. works the same way on a wood stove or a campfire) =^^= .../\...
