So after a period of listening to stuff other than metal 95% of the time, I've been on a metal kick for a while. It started off with Lord Weird Slough Feg and Iron Maiden, then I got drawn to super raw, dirty death metal from the early '90s, and from there I moved onto the new wave of old-school sounding bands, like Vasaeleth, and some other random death metal (guttural secrete, nuclear vomit) and black metal.... I've finally been able to appreciate early Darkthrone. God damn A Blaze in the Northern Sky is amazing Just saying metal rings true for life :sifone:
no such thing as alternative Metal, it's called nu metal and it's garbage for children/people just getting into Metal aka nothing you'd ever recommend someone (unless you actually meant offense and/or are just a troll)
I think I just got bored with the sound. Even now I have little tolerance for metal bands whose sole ambition is to ape the records that inspired them.
imitate. Unless they're extremely, EXTREMELY good at what they do, I need to save that hard drive space (and potentially money) for bands that don't want to write an album that's already been written a hundred times.
http://noiz.wordpress.com/ this blog has some fantastic cross genre type of metal, if your looking to branch out.
haha, harsh bro. i don't like labeling genres too specifically so i say alt metal for korn. nu metal is a shit name, just people trying to label something. oh, and korn kicks ass, so fuck you
