I feel sorry for whatever drove him to the point where he was.
But really, if you start murdering people in cold blood sympathy sort of goes out the window.

Well, it was his decisions all the way along the road...he went and obtained a gun, he went looking for his victims, he chose to point the gun, he chose to pull the trigger... at all these points he could have chosen not to continue with the course of action.

And after the initial shootings, he could have chosen not to shoot the copper, he could have chosen to give himself up, or even shoot himself there and then.

Basically, where he ended up was as a result of decision he made.

Just as a footnote - Moat was cremated yesterday.

According to the report in today's Metro newspaper, one of those in attendence was a certain Theresa Bystram, 45, who hadn't known Moat, but travelled 300 miles overnight by coach [dragging 3 of her 8 kids along with her]to be there.

She's quoted as saying: I absolutely loved him. I just think he is a hero and I wanted to pay my respects.

He kept them coppers on the run all that time.

Fair enough people died but they must have deserved it.

Oh well - that's Ok then, if they must have deserved it.

It would have been interesting if a stranger had approached and shot a couple of her kids dead in front of her and then said: They deserved it".

She'd probably have answered "Fair enough. Will you marry me ?"

He'd have made a great hog roast. Does anyone else think he looked like a big ham or is it just me?
