And the person you saw also had "Kinky Hair" which this dude doesn't have so it relates in no way lol. Someone posted a link to a time line of Caucasian plaited dreads and it took like 5 years before they resembled what most consider dreads not braids.

no offense to my sweet sarah, but she had locks for like two days when she started that thread^ like someone said above, it takes years. and more years than other methods.
It says that thread is from october, which meant I was about five months, I remember that dread braid, it turned into my most loopy one and now I can't tell the difference. I braided it, it turned into one of these I can't remember, and then knotted up. Don't quite know the point of linking my thread, my picture is gone from it anyway. edit: Okay thought this was a different thread. I had one braid, it got mega loopy (as did the rest of my hair) and then dreaded. So yes, if you put braids in your hair they might turn in to dreads, but in the same process that neglect or backcomb or twist and rip would (falling apart and regrouping themselves)
the tiny braid that i put in the tip of one of mine looks like that . some parts are getting sucked up towards the roots and others are bound in the braid. not the most aesthetically pleasing process.
I know it didn't have the picture but the discussion was there and I figure from there the OP could do a few more searches or PM you for a pic.
