Heya Yesterday i performed at the Tumbridge Wells Blacksmiths festival! It was so cool. Its a small festival based on the folk story of St Dunstan and the Devil here are a few pictures for you all (i made some of the costumes, the red devil, the madusa (me), the siren (lady with blonde hair) and i painted the dragon) yea it was a wikkid festival. does anyone know of any other small festivals like this which are comeing up?? Thank you to Jaycee for being film and photographer for the evening. Much llama love Fleassy xox
wehay, looks like you had a good time ! you can't beat the village traditional parties. some really old historical events are recorded beautifully just because people like to have an excuse to party!!
hehe yea this is re enacting the folk story of St dunstand and the devil. it tells about how the devil tried to seduce him and he clamped the devils nose with tongs and the devil turned into loads of different monsters (dragon etc) and whe st dunston let him go the devil flew across into the river in tumbridge wells causeing the water to go warms and giving it a redy colour. and thats apparently what its like now :S
I remember seeing a village festival in Cornwall where the inhabitants carry a burning barrel of tar over their heads until it completely disintergrates and pours flaming tar all over the place. Fantastic eccentricity.
Weeee.. that looks like so much fun Fleas'. Your such a festival girl, if i hear of any i'll let you know, its unfortunate i think one just past somewhere close by i was reading about it! But if i hear anything i'll know who to tell!
