Hello fellow travellers! My name is Daniel, i'm 18 years old and i'm from Norway. I'm going to hitchhike the world starting in this month, August. I'm seeking a friend who want to accompany me through this adventure. We will take on small jobs in the mornings doing whatever just to get some money for food or whatever comes our way. My plan is hitchhiking from Norway to Amsterdam, then further down the road to France and Spain. Here i will try to hitch a boat that is going whatever place is warm and hopefully exotic. This route is of course something that can be changed if you want to. As long as i can spend the winter in a warm climate. Anywho, a little about myself. As i said, My name is Daniel, 18 years of age, turning 19 in october. Got some Viking blood in my vains. I seek adventure in this life, i'm tired of the city life, 9-5 work every day. I have always been looking for something else in this life. So if there is someone out there, who have similar plans. Join me! Contact me through MSN; da9elsolum@hotmail.com Thanks, Dan.
A little update. I'll be leaving 10'th August, going from Norway, down to south in sweden to a place named Malmo. There i will take the bridge over to Denmark, Germany and then The Netherlands. I'll stay in Amsterdam for couple weeks before i continue.
don't hitchhike alone, it's boring sometimes. I did it, and though I met and chilled with loads of great people, ultimately, it was boring when I didn't. But alas, if you do have a great time.
Thanks for the tip. I made this post to try to get someone who want to tag along. But i'm leaving wether it's alone or not. When i visited Amsterdam about a month ago i met so many people doing the exact same thing that i'm going to do. Example: I met an Australian guy who had been travelling for about 7 months with no money, he had been all over this round thing we call Earth. He is the one who really inspired me to do this, it had always been a dream, but is now turning into reality. The thing about travelling alone is that one can get to see exactly what you want to see, and do whatever you want to do. If none has asked to tag along by the time i hit Amsterdam, i might try to find someone to continue the journey with from there. And if i find none, that won't stop me. If someone wants to join me but don't live close to Norway or the route i'm planing to take, don't worry. We can meet up anywhere.
if you come to north America, let me know, i can take a Grey hound bus and meet you just about anywhere. i would love to join you on your journey
The route is set to hit America and Canada by next year, close to summer. I'll be sure to let you know when i'm there. If you somehow make your way to Mexico closer to the winter we could meet up there aswell.
It's easier for one to catch a ride than two, and even easier if you ar female. You will be picked up by some very strange people, just stay cool. Try to be done hitching rides by a couple of hours past sundown, as then the drunks show up. From an experienced hitcher - Good Luck & have fun!
Thanks for the tips man, i'll be carrying a tarp and a Hammock with me to camp close to rivers or lakes when the night comes falling down. And some fishing gear aswell for some fresh smoked fish!
Okay folks, the waiting time is over. I'm all packed and set for this adventure, i'm heading out. Maybe i'll meet up with some of ya out there. And maybe i'll update with pictures sometimes!
Currently hitched my way from Norway through Sweden, Denmark, Germany and i'm currently sitting on a computer in Amsterdam. I've been all over the Netherlands the past 4 days. went on the beach one day all the way south west in Netherlands. Going to Belgia within 4-5 more days. Having a blast!
Too bad that I saw this post too late. It was very strange, because your remind me of me. I added you on msn to talk and also emailed you, waiting for a reply. I would like to hitchhike with you. my msn is congo@hotmail.lt
Hey guys, im in Bardeaux in France at the moment, having a great time on the road! Things are going fast aswell, yesterday i were in Paris. Nice city, but too big for a fellow hitchhiker. And finding the way out of Paris was pure hell, but after around 7 hours of looking for internet cafe, then getting to the highway, and then finally starting hitchhiking again. I finally got away from Paris. Going to have a look at this city before i continue towards Spain. only 1,5 hours away from here i have heard. Later folks, im off to see the world.
For some odd reason i have changed my mind about Spain. Im now on my way to Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia towards Greece! Later guys!
After a quick visit in Milano, Italy i went to Slovenia. There i heard my friend whom i had just left back in France were having a birthday party in Island. I couldnt resist the oppertunity to visit Island. Now im in France again, Toulouse with one of the guys i spent a week in a camping vagon with. Going to stay here for some weeks until i go for Island.
Island? Do you mean Ireland or Iceland? Both would be excellent places to visit, and I have not gotten to either. Anyways, I just wanted to say, I think your adventure is awesome and I wish I could join you. I will be checking back here to see how you are doing. I hope everything goes well for you. Cheers
