What do you guys think of him? I just recently got into him and I can't get enough. Sure he isn't Dylan, but still amazing nonetheless.. good stuff

Awesome...classic...beautiful lyricist...brilliant

 

I like him. He was one of the main people to bring psychedelia into the mainstream in the 1960's.

 

I like his OPEN ROAD album best.....and the box that came out recently is really quite strong. Highly recommended.

I like his album Sunshine Superman the best. My favorite song "The legend of a girl child Linda" is on it. So pretty...

I love 'Season of the Witch.' So hauntingly beautiful! And it will stay in your head all day if you aren't careful... Hehe.

 

Yeah, i like his music as well. Mellow yellow is my favourite song.

Donovan's absolutely fantastic! Although Dylan wrote some excellent lyrics, I prefer Donovan as a performer; I think he's a better singer and musician.

A lot of his lesser known material I think is the best; try listening to A Gift From A Flower To A Garden, what an album!

My favourite song, though, has got to be Ballad Of A Crystal Man, the version with all of the verses. That song has some beautiful lines in it.

Lalena is beautiful...

 

His box set is wonderfully remastered. Try to listen to a few samples....you'll be quite amazed.

 

I've never really listened to Donovan though I want to...how does he compare to say a Nick Drake?
