I have tried 2 types of cannabis tincture, 1 being the SativX and the other being an organic tincture from the Compassion Club in Vancouver. Both produce very mild effect at 2-5X the recommended dosage. By effects I don't just mean the narcotic effects but also the pain relief and nausea stabilizing effects. Any thoughts on why this seems common with the tinctures I have taken? ( also Im very interested in making and consuming a "hash paste" for its healing properties and also If anyone knows the grams per weight ratios for medicinal effects would be great because I know it would be beneficial for animals with dis-eases like cancer and arthritis.) Thanks alot, Cheeba
Tolerance would be the obvious answer, however, tinctures are extracts for a reason, to get over the tolerance and give the same, if not stronger, effects than smoking a good amount of high grade marijuana. The only thing I could think of is manufactures error, which is doubtful seeing as you've purchased from two different places. I personally have never felt strong effects from oral administration of THC, so maybe we're in the same boat here.
I've got good effects for eating weed before, but the tinctures are just not working. I did a tolerence test and did not consume Cannabis for two weeks, effects were the same. Im not sure how strong the tinctures are but I think im better off making my own.
I am currently using an tincture and had similar ineffective results when ingested orally. However, when injested sublingually (drops and placed under the tongue) the effects are much more noticable. The bioavailability is higher, as this method bypasses the digestive tract and goes directly into the bloodsteam. However, the taste is not pleasant and I notice a tingling/mild burning sensation as the alcohol base contacts the membranes that allow the molecules to pass directly into the bloodstream. Try to keep the tincture under your tongue/ in your mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. The effects are felt much faster and stronger than when just swallowed. Hope this helps!
Yes I have also tried this method now and have noticed a more "pronounced" effect but was still very subtle. Plus the burning sensation of alcohol was unpleasant but I liked the taste.
I think you need to heat up THC to activate it medical properties .and i think you need a oil base to releas the THC . that's what i was told . i am planing on making some butter to bake some brownies and some cookies.
Hash oil works very well for medicinal purposes and is sort of similar to the cannabis tincture, but we make it from trim so the CBD:THC ratio is very high, with little to no THC
