I look around me, and I see everyone using and abusing these tools of perception. Ive done it, I do it. But just this past weekend at a festival I have became consciouss of it. And id like to possibly inspire you to change ur outlook on it.

Festivals, concerts, rave what ever floats your boat, a gathering of people all gathered for the same reason, the music. The energy of your brothers and sisters, your family, all increasing urs, feeding off each other. It can be a radical experience. Take some lsd, some mdma, some mushrooms what ever ur poison is for that night, just to have a good time.

I do this, my brothers and sisters do it. Im not saying stop doing it. im just saying be conscious about it and use these chemicals the right way, like they are intended to be used.

These are very powerful and sacred things, and should be used ritualistically instead of being abused. Each substance teachs its own lesson.

MDMA / MDA (xtc) Puts ur mind in ur body, and lets you feel your body, lets ur brain become ur entire body. Also very strong for unity, to review your relationships with the people around you, how you can help them, how they thank you. Increases your unity and love for those, and gives u a deeper compassion for your brothers and sisters around you.

LSD a very spiritual event, turning your brain into a jellyfish, as you float through the ocean in your head, you discover new parts about you, new views, new ideas. Increasing your emotions, your energy, taking all your feelings to the ext ream, lsd is a very sacred and precious chemical that should be used to get you to where you need to be. Where you find yourself fitting the most. Creating yourself, and creating the ideal environment for yourself.

psilocybin / mushrooms will help you feel for the earth, and give you a natural appreciation for everything in your life. how beautiful the simplest of things can be when you look at them right. Helping you connect with the earth, the plants, and even then animals around you on more then just a physical level, but a spiritual level of energy. Mushrooms puts you on the same energy level as all the plants and animals around you. puts your energy back into a natural tuning for a higher placement within the natural world. It helps you let go of the dirty influences of humanity, and humbily allows for the natural teachings of the earth to influence and guide you to where you need to be.

DMT is a very power tool, a very sacred and should be highly respected. Used only with key timing, never abused. So sacred that anyone who trys to abuse it gets there ass wooped by it and just learns not to abuse it, thats how powerful such a thing is. Taking you right out of the little world you have known, right into another dimension within yourself. A dimension that is just as real as everything around you. Full of anything you could imagine. The things you feel, hear, and experience on dmt, are just as real as your own mother. Everything is just energy. weather its external or internal. you are tought many things, by many different things with dmt.

As far as the rest, im not to sure about. haven't done peyote, have done a small amount of mescaline. but as far as this goes. each psychedelic does have a very strong lesson to it that should not be abused.

Please, id like you to share your view on how all of these things can be used as tools, how you can use them to better yourself, your mind, body, and spirit. to achive a path of higher conciseness through the altering of perception. please if you have a high amount of experience, and use these things as medicans as they should be. please share how u use them, to help you, and better you as a person.

At this point in my spiritual journey I am now tripping very rarely. I'll say, one strong trip is enough for me now to stay away from anything for a full year. It seems the less you do it, the more spiritual and moving it is. Or atleast in my world inside of my head it is, everyones different. You have to find a good middle road I guess.

Those who don't dedicate their lives to pursuit of whatever through psychedelic drug use will just simply die? Those who do so won't die? Huh

    So where's been Leary hiding?

Yeah, nah, trust me. If you're spiritual journey is accomplished by tripping or it started by using drugs then you're not and haven't been having a spiritual journey.

Interesting thread from a good friend. i suspect it will yield many pages of responses.

i personally find psychedelics to be self-limiting/regulating. This has always been the case whenever i have personally dared to attempt abuse. There is the tolerance issue and the difficult experience issue. . . at a bare minimum.

i had a huge hunger for LSD when i was younger and did not listen to "the call" at all, . . . i abused the molecule. He he, we know what happens, right? Well, i had a really horrible trip and swore off all psychedelics for almost 20 years.

During the interim period i popped prescription poisons. Those were really hard to kick but psychedelics were very helpful, especially Salvia Divinorum and DMT.

i have smoked marijuana for longer than not. Now that i am beginning middle age with a diagnosis of osteo-arthritis and low weight, i have come to appreciate cannabis for the authentic medicine that it is.

i have experienced a kind of mid-life, existential crisis that was healed with the help of DMT. DMT is now my personal sacrament . . . it's not like taking a drug but more like going to a personal type of "church." i would like to be able to "abuse" it because it would only be abuse in the opinion of others. But, i cannot consume this molecule near as much as i would like (it is very self-limiting and i have been ass-kicked and whacked upside the head with the 2X4 many times, he he). Yet, most people consider me to be a very heavy consumer of DMT. i am currently doing it several times a week and breaking through once or twice.

After coming back to psychedelics, i grew some P. Cubenis mushrooms and started routinely eating 5-7 grams about once every week or two. i can no longer face mushrooms - they are such powerful and personal medicine. i think there were only so many changes i could contemplate within a short time period, if this makes any sense. i know i will come back to them, probably sooner rather than later and i loved the synthetic analog 4aco-DMT.

Now that i'm back, i carefully listen for "the call" when considering dosing with LSD. Admittedly the call comes very naturally at festivals, yet i find myself low-dosing in these contexts. The big trips i save for home, in bed usually, and it seems that that call is coming about 2-4 times per year.

i still love MDMA but find myself very cautious towards it. About 2x/year seems to be it. i've come close to taking it many other times, including with LSD, but when the time comes, i don't take it. Ah, middle age. . . can't decide if it's a curse or a blessing.

So, in summary, i come back to the theme of self-limiting, at least for myself.

i get so much more out of these medicines than i did when i was younger. i get hugely, personally significant personal insights and metaphorical trips. i get immersive visions with strong sci-fi themes. i have mystical experiences and rare ego deaths.

Psychedelics helped me flush the SSRI's, the pain pills, the muscle relaxants. They open up my creativity door and feed a need for novelty and spirituality in my mind/soul. A couple of years ago i wouldn't have been able to tell you what i needed, just that i was in a lot of trouble.

Marijuana becomes more medicinal the older i get.

i guess that's it for now. Thanks for this thread.

    Peace & Love,

I enjoyed reading the post Floes! I have been using psychedelics far more this year than any other, Prior to this year with the exception of MDMA I used them rather infrequently. I completely agree for the most part with you that you can go further with your trips when you use them infrequently and with respectful intent but like someone else said there should be a medium between sacramental use and recreational.

People are simply not going to worship and put these chemicals and plants on a pedestal in our culture. We live in a culture that breeds and encourages excessive behavior and its hard for most 16-21 year olds to view psychedelic use as a rite of passage, Even harder to maintain that sacramental ideology.

I do find some of these molecules to be spiritual myself. If someone doubts that, possibly you have not explored them far enough or perhaps your spirituality is aligned elsewhere. These substances have shown me glimpses of divine processess that I have not come close to experiencing yet so far through organized religion or even spiritual practice like meditation. But many of them also have a light hearted euphoric quality to them and there is something 'fun' about having your world so radically transformed that I see the recreational use and abuse potential.

I'm glad youre attempting to make more people aware of sacramental use, I too often see a disturbing level of excessive recreational abuse of psychedelics.

as far as adivice for sacramental use goes it depends on the substance but my general outline:

mushrooms: a heavy dose, 3.5 grams + alone in the dark (inside or out) in silence, possibly accentuated by other spiritual practices. (meditation)

Salvia and DMT: trip sitters present initially, salvia outside the beginning of evening or inside in dark, dmt inside with diffused sunlight. These are both more flash visions then particularly analytical or logical.

LSD/2ce: out in the woods if possible accompanied by music in the late afternoon. Also accentuated by spiritual practice.

MDMA/2cb: a few close friends with music.

Mdma/2ci/san pedro/2ct7:very effective solo if used with right intent to work on interpersonal relationships and emotional growth. I prefer solo day use with all of these except MDMA.

I agree about not abusing psychedelics; for yourself, everyone around you, and the drug's perception overall.

I do disagree with some of your descriptions (a bit new age-y), but think that it's an important message overall.

    haha good points by all

and this is why the shaman was the medium between the worlds... honestly it kept anyone from abusing the sacrament when it was only handed out when it was really needed
