http://web.archive.org/web/20070312124951/http://www.kwasonline.com/coldhardfacts.htm This page shows some examples of abused animals that have come into a vet clinic..... PEOPLE WHO DO THESE THINGS TO INNOCENT CREATURES DESERVE THE SAME FUCKING TREATMENT!! (Doing things like this are often a prelude to much more serious crimes)
This sort of thing happens all the time. It's usually down to laziness and neglect. (The "pet for christmas" and "live accessory" issues). Just do your part to properly look after any beings in your care (and don't buy animals from puppy mills or poor quality/unethical breeders). You could also volunteer at or donate to animal rehoming/shelter organisations.
I can't bear to watch that .I have 2 dogs and a cat that I love dearly and take good care of . Most of my animals that I've had have been rescue animals .How someone could mistreat or abuse a poor helpless animal is beyond me . It is just evil . Melissa
I know this mother fucker right now that had a dog chained up in the sun, all day yesterday... Call the cops , they say call animal control, call animal control no answer after 5pm.. Well tomorrow Ima take the dog whether someone tries to stop me or not idk, I doubt it... unless the dog has been removed already since I had left 100 messages all over the county switch board.. maybe the mayor will eventually get tired of it too.. he takes kids basketball hoops from the street cause its obstructions, but dont give a fucking rats ass about someone intentionally heat stroking a dog.. fucking dickhead!!!!
Man you should take him ! That sucks that you've called and nobody is doing anything about it .My god it's been like 100 degrees outside ! Anybody that would leave an animal out in that kind of heat should be locked up .They should be hooked up to a chain and left out in the heat just like they did their dog .
I called some people that live close to there just a little bit ago. They said they dont hear the dog right now. but that dont mean its not there.. but my rants on the phone did include threats to the people that live there.. its the mayor job to protect people before animals, but I think he did something.. not 100% sure yet but Ill see in the next hour or so, its just a walk for me..
The tricky thing is, if you're ranting, it's too easy for elected officials to write you off as a crank caller. Best bet is to go down to animal control and file a report. Inclue photos. If that doesn't work, invoke the media. Don't steal the dog. Seriously. It's just going to screw up any case animal control could bring.
go for it. this is how i met my best friend, Jefro Buford Tull. he was chained without water or food for days at a time. i just walked over, unclipped his chain, and walked him inside. he's been by my side ever since
I did not see the dog, i went by there.. I think it really is gone .. crosses fingers and toes.. poor thing . hate to say "Id rather see the animal put down than suffer"..if animal control took it, its most certainly pts..
you know when dog has that hyena laugh, its in trouble.. and thats what i reprted, "like you think this is the fucking JOker from batman locked up on this chain like this, WTF?!!!".. one or two my cellular call where like that
It would be OK if you had taken the dog since the dog was most likely not cared for and treated badly....... (I do understand you NOT doing so..... Maybe its better WHAT YOU DID DO)
a brother works in a no-kill shelter. They are unable to place large dogs in adoptive homes, its due to their preconcvied ferocity, or reputation. He also gets "bait dogs"
I stole a dog once who was chained up outside without food or water for a week while her owner was out of town. I still have her. stealing her is probably one of my proudest moments. I knew if I called animal control they would put her in a shelter and kill her if no one adopted her within a week. The woman I stole her from, my old neighbor, threatened to press charges so I took the dog back with the toys and bones I bought for her. I guess it made the woman feel stupid for being such a horrible pet owner because she called me the next day and said I could have her back.
Well at least your heart was IN THE RIGHT PLACE and the lady knew you are a better care taker than she was.. Peace and love to you my friend!
I cannot watch those commercials anymore showing beaten, abused, sad, lost, sick, mangled animals....I have to cry every time, and since I have seen them all, I have to change the channel immediately when they come on. I cannot take that......one of my biggest fights in life is for animals....I know what a cruel hell of a world this is for some. Yes, wish those kinds of people that do that, would just vanish off the face of the earth.
Good for those of you who have crossed the line to save the dog! Really. Well done. When I was in high school, these dirtbags lived next door and had a German Shepard. The husband went to jail and the wife and kids just left. Never really saw them again until years later. The dog was there for maybe a week or more by itself (as far as we knew). No idea about how much food or water it had. We just heard it barking and howling in there. So I asked my dad if he thought I should break in there and let the dog out (he was moderately disabled at that point). He basically told me that I should do what I thought was the right thing to do. I took that dog, brought it home and kept it for the rest of it's life. I really don't know how to describe it but it was like the dog knew I saved her. It was just something I seemed to be able to see in her eyes and she rewarded me with her loyalty for the rest of her life. One of the best dogs I've ever had.
