I don't believe in political correctness, I find it oppressive. I mostly treat people with respect and talk to them respectfully until they give me a reason not to. At which point I don't mince words or try to mind my p's and q's. At that point I remove the filter that usually sits between my brain and my mouth and I just say whatever comes. Sometimes I just get plain tired of having to watch what I say and word things in a nice manner so I don't bother.
coming from scotland this is something ive learned to deal with and adapt in certain situations, in my day to day speaking i use alot of slang
I have a fairly decent grasp of the mother tongue,so I just say what I say and hope my point is conveyed. If I make a mistake in a post,I'll go back and correct it. I see some atrocious spelling in here sometimes, but I don't correct anyone. PC? Hell no.
I'm more concerned with how I mix words up all the time and create new words rather than the choice of words. I constantly say spoonerisms accidentally. My brain's fucked.
much of my language is archaic old people talk. It's my upbringing. I would feel foolish speaking any other way. It's how I was raised. My parents were good hearted, non hating people. Generous and open armed. But their words weren't pc, and for a while I wasn't allowed out much. So occaisionally I'll accidentally offendpeople. While I don't mind deliberately pissing someone the fuck off, accidentally doing it hurts pretty bad. I hate pain. So I adjust.
It's always too long, though,....(no, i'm not going to insult you here, sir}..... because you always add "Hotwater". I think we know who you are by now, sir. I was thinking, I probably use a lot of the English words foreign people find a little strange. You name it, I probably say it.
