I have a good idea of what I am. I find walks in nature help the most. I just posted that pic cause I found it funny. There's a meteor shower going on right now. I'll come back when it's over.

So this morning marks day 5 of invasive suicidal thoughts. I ran for an hour yesterday trying to clear my head, nope. Drank tea, nope. Talked to a loved one, nope. Acupressure, nope. Meditation, nope. Yoga, nope. So I'm calling my doctor today and telling her to go shove off, and by that I mean "Im done taking this" and going to try something else. My best friend attempting suicide on Celexa sooo I don't want to get to that point.

Yea, I know what you're saying.

Everybody has some vice; alcohol, marijuana, other drugs, religion, shopping/spending money, reading, etc. Everybody uses something to cope with life. A year ago I used to wonder (as I've seen the topic of many threads here since I've been here) if I was broken or something because I could see through the bullshit of modern society and not find something appealing about it. Then I realised either people see through it as well and they just don't care so they turn to one of the above mentioned things, or else they don't see these flaws and pointlessness and they're just happy to go through life. Many people choose to only focus on the good things (which is great), but you can only focus on the good in each passing day when you see and recognize all the bad in it as well.

I was on here the other day and my television was on in the other room. I overheard a guy on there say, "95% of the research in the field of psychology is based on depression and anxiety. There is no material written about what a healthy mind is supposed to be."
And when I heard that guy (he was a doctor) say that I had the greatest moment of profound clarity. I realised the true weight of what he had just said. There's no material and reasearch written about what a healthy mind is because doctors don't fucking know what a "healthy mind" is supposed to be. They could do all this research and find out they themselves don't have a healthy mind. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are simply way too many variables of human nature to classify a certain way as normal and abnormal. Everybody is just different- as much as that sounds like it comes from a Disney movie, it's the most simple way to word that fact.

I had a textbook from school last year called, "Abnormal Psychology" it covered things like schizophrenia, electroconvulsive thearapy, and of course pills. Shortly after studying it I soon realised that it needn't be called "Abnormal Psychology" as everything that was in it is just about in every other "Psychology" textbook. Also a big part of classifying "abnormal psychology" is in how the patient is treated. Most of the time a person with psychological problems is treated abnormally, that is, they're treated like animals, less than human.

You might have already answered this, but how many milligrams of Celexa are you taking daily? I've been on Celexa since February and the only thing it does is make my scalp burn when I'm nervous, besides that... it's helping. (I'm medicated for Generalized Anxiety Disorder and a moderate Panic Disorder, I don't know if that makes a difference.) 20 mgs a day is usually how they ease you into it...

wrong... people have always taken something for some sort of ailment.. it dates back to ever since man existed and had a problem.. they found a "solution".... its just changed from being "Dr. Bob's Cure All and Wart Remover Cream" to a profound amount of SSRI's an SNRI's.... NSAIDS.. Benzos... etc...

Odd thing is i was reading or watching a thing the other day and they talked about how they really don't even know what SSRI's actually do.. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor... it works on the serotonin levels.. but they really don't know how or why or how much.. thats why it goes from 25mg-200mg.. all those SSRI's have a large gap in dosage recommendations because dr. just dont know.. they know it does something but what exactly is the hidden key

Sooo I had the most massive panic attack at work, my chest is still sore from my heart beating out of control. I went to the ER because I wanted to make sure I wasn't allergic to the medication or something. They gave me a bunch of ativan, told me to not go back to my psychiatrist and to enter DBT. My nurse was awesome though, he had 6-10 panic attacks daily when he was going through nursing school and gave me big hugs
