    well, so much for poor Mrs. Mackey who lost her job because she was an uptight asshole looking for a way to oppress harmless minorities like barefooters... M'kay

    I don't think that that's worth losing a potential job over.
    A supposed professor ought really to display more critical thinking/diplomacy skills than that though.

    Are we REALLY that sensitive as a nation? "not only backward and uncivilised, but dangerously unhygienic and repulsive to North Americans"
    This letter might have hinted at her open mind and all it contained. They probably made the correct choice.

    she is an ignorant ass although she is somewhat correct in that is seems going barefoot is repulsive to north americans as evident by our NS NS NS signs. and the unsolicited comments shodies give

    There was a wise barefoot tribal elder woman who said "It is hard to fill a cup that is already full" - in case of that Professor Mackie, her cup is filled to the brim, without a chance of reconsidering and filling it with new wisdom.

    Oh well, some people just aren't made for learning... and that's sad if those people are teachers, too.
