being a believer in the American dream and the Pursuit of happiness I'm going to ask you what is happiness to you.....

    Endless Money.
    Fame
    Success..

    What

For me its being able to do what I love. Filming and having good friends to chill and talk with.

Man I was going to make a similar trend am definitely curios what is the general happiness levels of the human race, I wonder at what point in time we were most happy in this fast paste information age or maybe back in the day when I dunno nations were at war and were united by one cause...? what makes masses of ppl happy?

As for my self am definitely not unhappy but I wouldn't say that am happy I think most ppl fall in to this group in to the group of just existing u know.

We get up go to work or educational institute stay there against our own will most of the time and for what for some numbers in our bank counts. I some time wonder does money exist for our own sake or do we exist for the sake of money. Well sure after that we have some free time we socialize... all of it really leads to better capability of reproduction of life forms why because the the bigger number of life forms exists the more data is collected of realty. And this collective knowledge is the very essence of the universe itself its ingrained within the changes of the inanimate matter and its evolution in to sentient beings whom slowly maturing in to the the self aware memory's of the universe.

Or in other words its all refinery and recycling of information how can I be happy if there is no meaning to it that I can see. Do I exist for the sake of the ppl or do ppl exist for the sake of me. If u were the last human alive on earth would there be a point in getting up from the bed in the morning?

So in the end I think the point of existing for us is to be part of something bigger even if we don't consciously know it does this make us happy am not sure but am not sure that the point of living is to be happy immediately its impossible, step must be taken first to reach bliss... if we like it or not parts of us are out of our egos control we are a form of life we are made to unite spread and conquer.

Why I think because universe wants to understand itself just like everyone ells trough the collective experiences of one self and others. After all true lasting happiness does not come from the outside stimulate but rather from the inside that is what is important is the way u perceive things the way u learn to see things. The only way to perceive everything in the positive way is to understand the reason for whatever is happening inside or outside.

Say the next evolutionary step of everything is to develop collective consciousness the internet is a step in to the right directions never before it was so easy to understand other ppl mind set. Could u hurt a man that u know and understand if he did u wrong u be much more happy to coexist if u knew the reasons for the crime or what not... and as long as the criminal would know ur state of mind do to the act would the wrong be even committed in the first place. What I am saying first we need to reach an equilibrium with the outside world (all is one) this is the first objective because only from that point on a lasting individual understanding of one self that includes all of individually known universe can be reach and as long as u know the map of realty u will know where to find happiness in turn making the universe a happier place as long as the replication of information keeps going happiness will spread like wild fire and another collective step will be taken to spiritual awakening of the universe...man I sound so crazy when am writing this shit out all my posts come back to all is one bs

    A warm gun, lol

Jk, Happiness isn't money, that brings about greed which brings misery. Hapiness is being what you want to be and doing what you want to do. In my opinion. I can't really describe it.

I'm glad you said "happiness isn't money" instead of "money can't buy happiness" Because usually when I buy something I'm happy about it :p

Anywho, I'm always happy because I've just stopped caring about when things go wrong. I buy an iPod, it breaks the next day. Do I care? Nah.

And that is the key to happiness. Also, getting easily excited helps :D

    Hrmmm....
    Being myself
Doing the things I love, and loving the things I do
    Being around people I love
Acceptance and love of life, the good and bad
    Freedom
    Doing good things, helping people

Money, power, fame mean nothing. Eveyone has their own success, the person living in a tent can be just as successful as the one in a $10million mansion.

to me, happiness is a beautiful woman in my arms, a drink in my hand, an ounce of ganj in one HUGE blunt, all at a relatively small party of 20 friends or so.

several of you stated that doing what you love is happiness.

I bring to you the question. what if there is an outside force that stops you from doing such things which you have no control over.

Do you just stop loving what you once loved or do you fight.

I guess it would ultimately come down to what I was stopped from doing and in what way.
If it was something major, and in a way that infringes on human rites or something Id have to fight. But, fighting it would make me happy.

    I had said
"Doing the things I love, and loving the things I do"
By that I meant not only doing what I want, but being able to be happy, content, find enjoyment etc. in things that I might not want to do.

Being "happy" is a fleeting emotion, the same as anger, jealousy, rage, joy, etc. Something that makes me happy today may anger me tomorrow.

But for now; smoking with friends, being with my family, knowing I have a future, these things make me happy.

I would not currently call myself happy, because I have been having trouble self-motivating and finding a job.

I consider happiness to be a well-rounded, varied life, without many extremes. Comfortable contentedness.

This song makes me rather sad, because most of the things he considers happy are things that are competitive (money, fame) or potentially harmful to others (drinking recklessly).

Happiness is life...what ya wanna do with it who you want to spend it with....life is about sacrifice...what are you willing to do to sacrifice what you want...example...you want to buy a dress but you also want to go to the movies but you only have enough money for one or the other....you must sacrifice one....the other will still make you happy...so happiness depends on sacrifices made in day to day choices
