When you name a piece how do you get your reasoning for the name?

This could be a fun topic.

I usually like to have cool reasons for the names. Names that actually mean something.

My friend had a bowl and he named it Jamal, no reason whatsoever. It did not look like a Jamal to me lol.

My first bowls I ever got (I got two at the same time cause there was a deal going on) I named Ricky and Ronnie (Dolphins running backs, two backs two bowls, a solid one-two punch)

My bubbler is still nameless. I forget some of my other names for bowls.

But what do you guys think about 'Vontae' I like it for my new bowl because its a unique name for a unique bowl. I got it custom made and had Dolphins colors in it, so thats logical too. Vontae'll intercept ya! I like having code names and such like that tool.

So what about you guys?

 

I named my bong Brandon Marshall because it's used to sucking. HahahahhHa!!!! Pwnage for you!!

I name mine after Hindu Gods, depending on their colors/shapes/what I smoke in them xP

i like simple names. and i just name it what comes to mind, doesn't everyone?
like my fatter one with a red bottom i thought of Lucy. Lucy is also a cow in my head.
my green zong a long time ago i named Terry cuz Terry is a very green name for me.
my old red acrylic i named Barr because Barr is a red name for me.
etc.

 

I let my friends name my shit, but only when they're fucked out of their minds

My old heady hammer I used to have was dubbed the dragon dick since it was reddish and looked semi-demonic lol

 

I usually come up with their names after I smoke out of em. My bong, Margherita, was because she looks like a lamp, and her original name was Rita Is-a-lamp, and I wanted it to retain some of her original name. so Margherita was born. sometimes it a play on some physical attribute, sometimes it just comes to me.

 

in the past, i've usually named it during the first high that i get from smoking out of that pipe/piece.

let's see if i can recall:

-there was this little spoon that I had called "Harmonious Dave." i named it that because it sounded exactly like 'harmonious stave' (stave=the wooden strips that make up a barrel). unfortunately, it's now in the hands of the police

-i had this great sidecar bubbler that i called "Savage Lucy in the Sky with Cubic Zarconias," which eventually became "Savage Lucy" for short. in reference to Fear & Loathing, of course... and it savagely got you high as shit...

-i've got this great dolphin-shaped pipe that's named "IT's the Phish." i bought the pipe in the netherlands and took it with me to go to phish's festival IT (a LOOONG road-trip via car). it's traveled across continents and multiple US states and has also been my main "stay-at-home" piece for over 7 years - and still has not broken (knock on wood). even with it's very delicate 5 fins sticking out everywhere.

so there's usually some other reference built into the names that i give a piece, but must come to mind during the first high after using said piece. although, i still haven't named my volcano anything other than "the device."

 

I had a pipe that was all blue and had a white bowl that was shaped like a toque . His name was Smurfie

 

I just think of the funniest name possible when I'm stoned and name my pieces that.
