I’m guessing that pretty much describes her current emotional state as well :(

Do I feel sorry for her? No, I lost all sympathy for whatever might have driven her to kill her children when she took their innocent lives. I don't care if she was beaten as a child, you'd think that because of those circumstances she'd want a better life for her own kids. There really is no excuse, if she didn't want them anymore, she could have said so and arrangements could be made to find those kids better homes. Storys like this make me despondent, it's becoming increasingly hard to watch the news these days.

I doubt things have changed much as far as parents killing their children go, these things happen occasionally and probably always have done and will do.
It's because we have reduced the number of deaths by other mechanisms like disease, that we (broadly speaking) notice things like this these days...

I'm pretty sure she was just angry that McDonalds had run out of chicken nuggets.

I suppose it's because I started the thread to get a sampling of how people viewed this kind of senseless crime - But I find it kind of distressing to try and turn it into a sick joke thread.
Seriously - A poor, hopeless black woman snaps and kills her two children and then rolls them into the river. This is mental illness at its apex - And yes I still have the capacity to find compassion for her - and the children who died - and also the so many more kids who have been senselessly killed.
Frying her would not prevent even one hopelessly sick person from killing their kids. This is far beyond "do the crime - serve the time."
The lack of insight into the causes of the crime and how to address future prevention - appalls me.
It seems many are not looking for justice - for any of the parties - but for vengeance which somehow seems to sate a need for retribution in so many.

I'm not looking for anything. The bitch is crazy and she needs to be treated, instead of punished; that's true. However, our personal reactions hold no influence on what happens to her, as a result of her actions, so there is no reason to be so sensitive about some shit people say on an internet forum. It doesn't matter. Whatever happens is gonna happen, regardless of how we feel or what we say, sadly enough. This is the world we live in and the justice system looks at things as "black and white", as opposed to looking at the circumstances of a particular incident and the persons involved.

    Sadness:(

Man quit trying to save the world. As long as there are humans there will be murder, as long as there are humans there will be fighting, hate, crime, justice, sadness, etc. because those are all inherited human traits. There's no getting around it. We should feel sad and compassion for every single sad story about sick people and dead children? That's impossible, there's too many and that would be much too exhausting. These things happen, and yet tomorrow morning I will wake up with a hard-on, take a piss, then walk to the kitchen and eat some cereal. The world turns.

Was is it you're looking for? Perhaps compassion where there needn't be any.

PS- Scolding others because of their preceived lack of "insight" isn't right. People have their own morals by which they live. Why do you have such a need for absolution and empathy? Is it because you cannot stand the thought of chaos in the world?

Damn right. Also, right now, I have a bladder full of alcohol and it needs to be emptied. I shall go to the restroom and return momentarily, but I expect to see this pointless discussion still in full-effect. brb
