Any self made millionaires/rich people on HF?

In particular any computer people who have made it big? I was listening to BBC this morning and a guy makes millions (I didn't catch exactly how many millions, but I believe they said 2 or 3) selling old school candy online. That is just one of those things that makes you slap your forehead and say "I could have thought of that!" Has anyone come up with a good idea and are now making a substantial amount of money? Especially if you are doing it online (and if so, are you a programmer).

The myth is that chasing millions of dollars is a worthwhile pastime.

 

Beats king hell out of choking down man loads for crack and meatball subs.

 

I used to be a millionare, but that was only I changed the equivolent of 100 Euroes into the Italian Lire.

I know of a self made millionare or two but it was not from any intenet or computer business,and the best way to describe how they made there money is that they were importers and distributors of certain highly sought after products...lol...I myself am not interested in being really rich and selling my soul and values to get money,but I work for a few people in an agricultural setting and make enough money and get free produce and I am happy like that...lol...

 

I don't know if anyone has done it, but you could create a website that corrects the atrocious spelling and grammar of posts of people on the web.

A site that adds periods at the end of sentences and starts them with capitals, puts spaces between sentences, separates text into paragraphs where appropriate, corrects spelling errors, etc.

God knows we need such a site.

It would be like Babelfish but would translate sloppy English into acceptable English.

If it gets enough advertising revenue, perhaps someone would buy the site for a million bucks.

There's a guy who models underwear on the web. He has a simple camera setup at his apartment and posts his stuff on various sites as part of his job. He's doing well financially. It started as a meager income job. Can't remember his name right now.

Thank you for your replies folks. Check out http://websiteshadow.com. Although it can not be viewed as 100% accurate, it still provides inspiration for great things to come for me. However, I have been using the site for quite some time and some of the figures (highly successful sites) are right in line with interviews given by their creators.
