I'm just wondering if anybody has ever tried smoking weed while having a migraine to try to take some of the pain away. I've heard that its great for pain relief, but I wonder if it would work for migraine pain, or even the nausea.
Definitely helps with the nausea. As far as the actual headaches go; usually it makes them better (or at least distracts you from them), but sometimes it makes them worse (but still helps you get distracted =P)
tramadol, demarol, atavan, from a hospital visit Via shot. Weed does nothing for migraine to me.. I smoke weed all day, everyday.. If I was doing heroin. then heroin wouldn't work for the migraine either..
I've heard it helps some people, but honestly it would just be like being high with a migraine to me. I have to take ibuprofen for a normal headache so it wouldn't help me. Haha I'm pretty much like orison, I'm high all the time.
aw thats too bad that it doesn't work lol. It would of been interesting trying to get prescribed medical marijuana from my doctor for migraines Maybe I'll try it for the nausea though. If I can at least get rid of that it would be great.
Well it works differently for everyone. I would DEFINITELY give medical bud for your migraines a try, if you can get it that is. It may work for some people, and not for others. My girlfriend suffers from severe migraines and whenever we smoke and she has a migraine she always comments that it helps. As someone above said, it could just be distracting her from the migraine OR it could be helping treat it.
Always helps when I have headaches. I dulls it, so to speak and then I get distracted by all the pretty colours. I've heard something about Psilocybin being used to treat cluster-headaches, I'll have to do some research on that though.
Nope psilocybin and other ethneogens only work for cluster headaches. Although I found this little tid-bit on cannabis -
mj usually works great for pain, I use it for my back. It doesn't touch my migraines though, but nothing does.

If you normally smoke sativa strains to no-avail, maybe try an indica, although indica is predominantly a more of a 'body high', just give it a go and see how it works out. Obviously if you smoke indica more often try sativa which is more of a cerebral (head) high.
