Looking at moving to Portland area this fall

Hey all.

I'm looking at moving to the PDX area this fall.
I'm a 30 year old professional audio engineer (sound guy) and originally from NH, but I've moved around quite a bit the last 10 years. Lived in Colorado, New Mexico and currently now in Alabama. I'm really looking forward to getting out of here and to a place with more conscious and like-minded folks.
Portland seems like the right choice, as it also seems there is a decent music scene and I won't have too big a problem finding work. I used to run my own audio production business and would love to get that started up again some day soon.
My tentative date for moving will be sometime around late October/early November.
I would really love to meet some cool folks once I get to town. I also may need a couch to crash on for a bit until I can get on my feet and find a cheap room for rent. I have a 9 year old black lab who is the sweetest dog ever. If anyone might be able to help me out, let me know. If you just want to hang sometime, let me know.
