When I'm stoned I love to listen to bands with a deep melodic tone to their songs examples pink floyd, led zepplin, rob zombie, iron maiden, slightly stoopid, pantera. What do you guys like to listen to?

Necrophagist/Decapitated/Fleshgod Apocalypse - the musicianship always blows me away

Slayer/Kreator/Metallica/Sepultura - The old thrash sound
    always gets me pumped up

1349/Dissection/Gorgoroth - Black metal just sounds way
    blacker.

Sleep/Electric Wizard/Black Sabbath - I love chillin to this shit.

But nothing beats Kiss, whenever I hear Kiss whe. I'm drunk or stoned I always get a hge smile in my face and everything seems alright....

I'm not dissin' your taste in music, because I respect the hell out of the musicianship of all those bands, but heavy music creates such a visceral reaction in me...I tense up and get extremely nervous. Its something about the speed of it all...its not something i can just relax to....i can't imagine digging any of that when i'm stoned. maybe black sabbath, but thrash metal/black metal (i dont even know the difference) just kills me.....so i'm curious, what kind of emotional/visceral response does this mucic create in you? I've never understood it, I have a lot of friends that like metal and I just really don't get it. I can respect it, but I dont listen to music just so i can respect it, I pick my music based on the emotional response. Does metal actually do anything for you besides hype you up/feed anger? Do you really enjoy it when you're high and mellowed out? I'm really not tryin to diss ya so dont take it that way, i just want to understand....I've never gotten the appeal of it.

I like the same shit I like when sober...

I always love some good old metal. Whether it be 60's/70's, stoner, traditional, thrash, melodic death, and I'm not too fond of Black metal anymore, but stuff like Burzum is good for long walks at midnight or something.

Really been digging Maiden's new album. It's a fucking journey when you're stoned.

Then I can always count on some chill stuff like Shpongle, GD, Phish, Shulman, Hallucinogen, Lemon Jelly, Royksopp, etc.

I was in my friend's car the other night and he randomly put on some Eagles. I don't think I've listened to them that baked before, and that was fucking magical.
