SO last night me and my roommate decided that we should crack into the deemsters that i had been saving for a rainy day. Let me just say wow! I packed up a bowl took a toke and had no idea what i was in for. As soon as i released the smoke from my lungs my whole world changed; the first thing that happened was the most intense "wha wha" repeating vibration that i had ever experienced in my life. Once the wha set in i found the need to lay down on the ground with my legs and arms spread out. The next thing that happened was one of the most intense experiences of my life. I began to see these entities but could not make sense of what they were, i appearance they were humanoids made of complex fractiled patterns but their heads appeared to be much larger than normal and looked as if energy was exploding out of their skulls (not a very good description but it is the best i can do). These beings seemed to be taking me across some sort of body of water, like ushering me across to the other side. I totally gave into the experience and lost track of what happened next but the next thing i do remember is feeling as if i was either being pulled out of a grave or put into a grave. I thought holy shit im dying, it felt as if something was trying to pul my soul from y body, but then again i thought something might be trying to put a soul in my body. Needless to say this was intense and it is hard to remember everything, but i did wake up today with a new lease on life because the experience taught me that death is always lurking over your shoulder and that every day needs to be lived to the fullest. On a side note i went to a funeral this morning as well, most likely had something to do with the nature of my trip as i knew i had a funeral to attend in the morning before i tripped. Thoughts? comments? give it to me thanks so much for your time Much love -Dis
Sounds like a pretty intense breakthrough. I've seen this fractalized entity that was huge and it looked pretty menancing, i've heard a few interesting reports and associations of dmt and water as well. I have had the sense of like running water in my head but have not seen or felt the sense of traveling over water.
This is a beautiful report! Wow, i so do love DMT! What did you use to smoke? Breakthrough complete with the carrier wave sound (that siren sound - sometimes it presents as a kind of tinntinitis), fractal entities, near soul launch, touching ego-death. Wow! Regarding your knowledge about an upcoming funeral, yeah, anything cooking in the mind, even in the pre and subconscious will bubble up to the surface (sometimes very aggressively) and sometimes integrate visually, symbolically or metaphorically into the content of the trip. But, i also want to state, that what you experienced IMH and inexperienced opinion is a HALLMARK DMT BREAKTHROUGH EXPERIENCE. These death themes (at least for me) are part of the DMT experience. Delightful to read what you got out of this - waking up with a new lease on life, understanding that we need to maximize every single precious, unique and irreplaceable second . . . i'll just bet that everything looked, sounded, smelled, felt and tasted absolutely wonderful too. Peace & Love, Spicey Cat Purrrrrr! P.S.: Breakthrough and entities - i'll be sending you a friend request if that's okay. i live in this space whenever i can, he he.
Spiral out keep going ! Writer. Work on that technique with the vaporizer if that's what you are using, like I said try wiggling it or something so it doesn't burn to quickly. Or make a DMT sandwich in a bubbler or bong and slowly inhale, I dunno it's really effective for me and those I dose.
I sincerely disbelieve that there is anything offered by DimethylTryptamine that is not offered by 4-Acetoxy-Dimethyltryptamine in a different flavor. As such I have reached states of complete obliteration, hyper-dimensional galactic apocalypses, cosmic tantric supernovas, all that good stuff, on many, many tryptamines, in fact most of them with the base "DMT". Not once has there been a contact with anything that I did not immediately recognize to be either a facet of myself or a warping of some aspect of "the real world" (aka mistaking the bed you're in for a landscape). I really am of the impression that every single one of you who encounters discrete and seperate "entities" in your travels has taken a large enough dose to lose your conscious conception of what you are in some sense, and are mistaking figments of your imagination and psychological odds and ends for things "outside yourself". I simply don't see why you can effortlessly meet jewelled self-dribbling basketballs on DMT but not on DPT. It just doesn't make sense, and I am a big fan of Occam's Razor and believing my own experience. DMT for me has always been your average tryptamine experience. No different. No more or less special. Just another tryptamine that induces synesthesia, ego death, and a garden variety psychedelic experience. There is no more "breaking through" on DMT than there is breaking through on mushrooms, LSD, or DOx. *dodges a thrown jewelled self-dribbling tomato*
Agreed with guerillabedlam, and again, applying for (too old i know) salesgirl position for a perfect DMT vaporizor that starts at $50 and goes up to $120 called The Vapor Genie. This does the trick. Otherwise, keep working it. Trying to vaporize (hopefully not burn - i never truly mastered this) 40-60 mgs in 2 mins or less (the less the better) while trying to balance the equation with holding the vapor in your lungs for a really long time - like 12-20 seconds if possible - aim for that clear exhale. For a long time i didn't see entities. But, once they presented themselves to me, they became a hallmark of higher dose experiences. i have also encountered entities using salvia divinorum and 2CB, so perhaps (using that razor Mr. Writer references) there are some of us that have the anthropomorphic recognition system of our brains stimulated while tripping. i have not yet tried DPT, but i will. i read that IM use yields "Just like DMT space but without all those pesky entities" in the Entheogen Review. So go figure. Everyone is an individual, and individuals have individual, unique, and sometimes unpredictable and paradoxical reactions to drugs. It might be that you have gone all the way on DMT and beyond and never encountered and never will encounter an entity. This is neither here nor there IMHO, just an indication of individual response to catalyzing molecules. . . Finally, i guess i can say this, though i don't do it myself: Some people believe that the way to get the full-on DMT breakthrough experience is to simply follow this formula but with a sitter to catch your pipe: Smoke until you are gone! Peace & Love, Spicey Cat Purrrrr!
I used just s simple spoon bowl (happened to be the first bowl that i have ever purchased when i was 18) and made a dmt sandwich with weed.
and just one hit? do you know how many mg? writer, it's weird to see you talk about "garden variety psychedelic" when you often comment on the vast differences between similar chems. even if they do "take you to the same place" i'd think a DMT breakthough would be much different than a 4-ho-DMT breakthrough.
Yes but only in the flavor of it; i just don't see how dmt can produce such richer imagery and events than other DMT based molecules, i really think it's just a socialized hype and in the unconscious of the drug community now and so people just end up fulfilling the prophecy by expecting great things and reading great things in what they are perceiving . . . just my theory
Interesting writer. Thats kinda sad to hear from someone who seems to champion psychedelics, you almost come off as envious. You'll sit here and tell people to take the exact same chemical at a higher dose because it supposedly produces markedly different effects, but you can't wrap your head around how taking a entirely different chemical consumed in a completely different manner produces different effects?
I think I can understand where Writers coming from. I have experienced this with substances that are so unrelated it awed me that I found myself in a very familiar place. What It took to get to that "familiar place" was remarkably different though. For example:Twice I ended up in the library. The first time I traveled through a lush green forest and found a library amongst a river and waterfall. The second time I walked endlessly through the desert before I came upon an oasis, whereby was the library. Well thats enough of my non-sense....
I'm split between envy and disbelief, I want to believe that these experiences exist and I have just not been doing it right but experience tells me these experiences arrive from the minds of the trippers and are not endogenous to DMT. I think you could hype up mushrooms and tell someone they will meet entities and see a rose chrysanthemum and enter a dome and then when they eat the mushrooms, they will see all that. I think different effects are found with different dosage, set, setting, and substance, absolutely, but why would vaped DMT have such different effects than any other substance out there? My gut just tells me its "brand name" hype, and its confirmed every time I smoke DMT and find myself in what is essentially a 5 minute mushroom trip. With all the aspects of mushroomy trips, and no entities. Likewise are entities not experienced by others on other substances? I don't know off the top of my head, can't think of any TRs I've read other than DMT where people say they met entities. Oh, salvia I think. Guess I'll have to do more trials when I finally get my new meth pipe tomorrow
Dr. John Lilly had lots of encounters with "entities" on hero doses of ketamine in an isolation tank. Hi GB, you have said essentially the same thing to me about entities. What I think you are missing is that writer and myself are not totally dis-believing, we're skeptical. I would prefer a "psychedelic champion" that didn't just blindly accept these notions, but rather investigate and understand them. If I encounter some entity which is definatly not the product of an amalgamation of my thoughts, intents, and emotions and can be shown to be such, I will be much less skeptical. You seem to think that us not experiencing "entities" or our reluctance to attribute such things to forces outside of ourselves as somehow sad or inferior. Why? I get a hell of a lot more out of my psychedelic experiences when I face everything that I encounter as part of myself. Spicey Cat has mentioned that she knows these entities are formed from within her own mind and not necessarily beings from "out there". In my recent thread about psychedelics as medicine I wrote on my perceptions of the different characters of certain substances. After I posted it and read it again I wondered how much was really from the character of the substance and how much was from my pre-conceptions and subconscious expectations based on all my reading and study, concerning each one. The cultural stigma associated with the substance. Our "conditioning" is much more far reaching then we like to think. Could it be that a lot of people encounter entities and shit because that is what they have read about and have heard they will encounter them on certain substances? DMT has been hyped as "the Spirit molecule" for over a decade now, and for some reason folks in this sub-culture seem to think McKenna to be some prophet or some shit and don't even question the stuff he said. You don't think that has something to do with all the "entity" encounters on mushrooms and DMT? When I was younger, I never once heard of any type of "entity" encounters among any of the people I knew. The only place I had heard about such things was from Dr. Lilly. But just how much validity can you ascribe to the experiences of a person who took HUGE doses of LSD and Ketamine, often together and would then spend the next DAY or two in an isolation tank. Doesn't do much to paint a picture of credibility, does it. At this point in my life, I tend to think "entities" are constructs of our mind and not beings from some hyper-dimension come to impart wisdom to us. That could change tomorrow, but for now I'm pretty comfortable with my thoughts on the subject. I am an open-minded skeptic concerning this, as I think Mr. Writer is as well.
I am skeptical myself regarding the legitimacy of the entities in a sober state. Let's take salvia for example: I had my first breakthrough with salvia at 19 with no notion or influence of what entities were. I had tried shrooms and LSD beforehand and the being I saw on my first Salvia breakthrough was of a detail and level of structure that I simply can't chalk up to coming from my subconscious or desires. I've never seen anything like it exist in this realm and words are vague approximations to describe it. The most obvious and blatant example of the difference in the realism and structure of imagery of these compounds is between n,n dmt and 5-me0-dmt. Here are two compounds with fairly similar intensity one is arguably the most hallucinogenic substance on earth the other could almost be considered almost non hallucinogenic. You come off as like you have seen all there is to tripping and based on that first Dmt report writer I can tell you straight up hit it wrong. Youre not smoking weed and its been notorious and is difficult to breakthrough on dmt. I certainly do not see entities everytime I hit dmt and I don't feel I go looking for such things either. I do go in with an open mind and the things that pop out of the background and landscape occassionally of dmt again feel convincingly distinct, unique and often too numerous to brush off as simply my subconcious or whatever.
I've never said that anywhere, I'm saying it's sad that Writer seems to be holding a skeptic position towards fellow psychedelic users that I find strikingly similar to a straight sober person saying these substances have no value at all and it's just propaganda and an excuse to use the substances. I've actually been one to defend all types of psychedelic experiences on this forum. I think valuable, transformative, ++++, transcendental, etc experiences are possible at every and all levels of every psychedelic substances when used past the threshold. Some of my most transcendental and meaningful experiences have been off a single hit of ecstasy in a rave enviornment. The importance of the psychedelic is not really the issue here, it's more to do with the imagery and character, or in the case of DMT characters. I have not said anything in regards to the intentions of these entities or that they actually exist in some remote hyperdimensional space, i'm simply saying while under the influence of Salvia and DMT there does seem to be very concrete entities that I have experienced that have not been experienced on any other substance and seem to be separate from anything that makes up a part of my personality. Mckenna's description of 'self-dribbling basketballs' I think is a good example, after watching Mckenna's speeches and stature I can't imagine hoop dreams being an integral part of his life. I don't look at that guy and am like 'Oh he must have averaged 15 points , 10 boards, 6 assists a game in high school.' perhaps if there is some sort of level of universal archetypal figures that reside in the makeup of humans in general I would be willing to accept maybe that's a possibility of what's happening with DMT, but it does not seem like a personal thing. As far as Salvia goes I simply have no clue what the hell that thing was hahaha.
I have experienced things with psychedelics that I could attribute to being some "other-than-me entity", but I try to understand and recognize that thing in myself which has manifested as a "other than me". I have posted links and mentioned a few times about Micheal Persinger's work with his "God helmet" with which he can induce a "mystical" encounter with an unseen entity in people by manipulating magnetic waves in specific brain areas. These subjects, many of whom were very non-religious and skeptical, all reported the presence of an "other" entity or presence in the room with them. Maybe the exact same thing is happening with these DMT reports, but are being interpreted differently due to the setting and conditions that precipitated the phenomena. As far as "self-dribbling basketballs" go, is it needed for McKenna to have played basketball in order for that "entity" to manifest during a heavy drug induced altered state? Surely McKenna had seen a basketball before, I'm willing to bet he may even have actually played and dribbled one once or twice. Archetypes are easy to understand and account for. We are after all based on the same blueprint, aren't we? So it isn't too much of a stretch to say that we tend to experience the same type of "entity" encounters because our brain structures and chemistry are the same. All I have ever really said about "entities" and "plant spirits" is that I don't see the need to go outside of the human brain and mind to account for all these phenomena. There very well may be other dimensional creatures that we can only perceive after the ingestion of certain chemicals. We all know psychedelics increase sensory input and processing. Maybe DMT allows us to "see" into this other dimension. Or maybe it just elicits vivid "dream states" in the user. DMT is thought to play a key role in dreaming isn't it? Maybe that is all that is happening, but because your state of awareness is "wakeful" your brain/mind needs to put a different interpretation on the events.
No but you repeadetly claim these experiences all seem to be involved in one's specific personality, i'm saying basketball doesn't seem to be very integral to Mckenna's life. Yes he's probably seen a basketball but I doubt it's important enough to him to have as material present itself in a trip like this. It just that's probably the closest vague approximation in language as to what these things look like. Don't expect to actually see basketballs under the influence of DMT. "These things come running forward like Jeweled self dribbling basketballs" It's a similie man not to be taken literally, and probably better than I could do.
My point exactly. I have always stated that the content for psychedelic trips comes from within, memories, emotions, thoughts, not just aspects of personality. All our attempts to put word to psychedelic visual experiences falls back to being simile. That is the best we can do, simile and metaphor. That is exactly what I think these entity encounters are, simile and metaphor played out by our minds. Even so, all psychedelic experiences are involved with that person's life. (personality is too limited). So even if self replicating machine elves were to manifest themselves to me on my next psychedelic journey, I would still evaluate the experience within the framework of my own life and experiences, and not just proclaim I have contacted another dimension. (not saying you do that, but there are some out there that are convinced of it) But on another note, it sure as hell has been hot here this past week hasn't it?
