i just got back from the vet....i had to put my cat to sleep. I dont think he would have made the night. Charlie had FIP and the virus took his life away in less than 2 months. By the time we saw the signs and took him to the vet, it was only a week. My vet told me that she hadnt seen a case of FIP in 10 years. FIP is very rare and comes from a virus called the corona virus which can be benign in most cats that catch the disease. Its caught mostly in catteries when they are kittens or its a good chance it comes from mom(its not proven). They can go along having a long normal heathy life. In some genetic cases this corona virus will begin to mutate as the cat reaches 6 months to 2 years into something awful. This is what happened to Charlie, I just think it was just too bad because he was such a good cat. So i want everyone to be aware FIP and the corona virus, when buying pets, because you could loose something you love in less than a year! And i had no idea about FIP or corona virus. so Rest in Peace Dear Charlie. We loved you so. he is the orange one.
i'm so sorry for your loss. RIP Charlie. My little guy, Osiris, was also taken by FIP . . . Peace & Love, Spicey Cat Hissss!
:grouphug:I am sorry that you have had such bad news and had such a hard decision to make. They do become a part of our family and we miss them when they are gone.
This one is for you Charlie! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Qdp4hBYaa4"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Qdp4hBYaa4
Aww, I'm very sorry. What a handsome boy he was. I'm sorry for your loss, but the worst part about losing a pet is watching them suffer so I'm thankful he wasn't in pain for too long and he is now at peace. One of my rats died 2 days ago so you have my deepest sympathies. I like to read this now and then, it's one of the few things that actually brings tears to my eyes but makes me feel a lot better...
thank you so much for that!!! I read it outloud and i could hardly make it without choking up. Its very sweet. Yeah me and my boyfriend have been remembering him all night. "Remember how charlie used to plop down on your feet, yeah he looooved feet" it feels good to honor their memory. i feel much better since he is gone, he looked horrible and it was sad to see him that way.
Aww, no problem Yeah, it's really nice to remember all the good and happy times and how much joy they bring to you in the time they have here with us. They are so special and the bond humans have with their pets can't really be duplicated by anything else in this world. Truly one of life's most precious gifts.
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat Charlie .I know my dogs ( Abby , Chief ,Jackson ) and my cat (Franklin ) are members of our family and I would be devastated to lose any of them .I have lost two of my dogs ( Sandy and Lucky ) and I grieved for a long time over their loss .They give us so much joy and it is beyond sad to lose them .You did the right thing in not letting Charlie suffer .I wish you the best in your future and hope that the knowledge that Charlie will suffer no more will give you some peace of mind .
