Pedophilia VS. harming children

I have a wide range of friends, and all of them have different opinions about pedophilia.

First and foremost, let us get the actual definition of pedophilia out there-

Pedophilia (or paedophilia) is a mental disorder in adults or late adolescents (persons age 16 and older) characterized by a primary or exclusive sexual interest in prepubescent children.

It is my belief that pedophiles cannot be "cured", i.e. They cannot be made to not like children in a sexual way if they are true pedophiles-a person who sexually molests a child may not be a pedophile, but may just be a predator who wants an easy target.

Also not all pedophiles sexually molest children, they may just find children attractive without doing anything about it.

I think that we can all agree that sexually molesting children is wrong because it harms the child-correct?

But using 3-D renderings or artwork of children as fapping material is not harmful to any children-correct?

If you agree with the 2 above statements, it leaves a gap open, a gap that most people don't even think about., what about regular photos of children?

Normal photos of children can be easily found, on child model websites, in photo albums on facebook and myspace, on google images, deviantart-you name it., The question I want to know is how do people feel about pedophiles using a random photo of a real child for masturbatory purposes?

* The child in said photo isn't harmed.

* The child in said photo would never know.

* The pedophile most likely doesn't even have access to the child in the photo.



Personally, it squicks me-but I cannot punish someone for a thought crime, especially if it is a uncontrollable thought.

 

Wrong. This is so wrong. Anyone who sexually molests a child is a pedophile. Case closed.

I'd disagree. Pedophilia is an attraction and rape is usually a crime of anger. Rapists don't rape someone they thinks the most beautiful simply a target and child rapists wouldn't necessarily be attracted to a child.

Touching children is wrong because children cannot give consent.

Having sex with children is wrong because children cannot give consent.

Bestiality is wrong because animals cannot give consent.

Necrophilia is wrong because corpses cannot give consent.

Etc, etc.


BEING a paedophile is fine because it's just how their mind is. They were born that way. However, it is wrong for them to do anything involving children because children cannot give consent.

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but being a paedophile is the same as being left-handed, or gay, or really religious.

Of course they are. Once the finish puberty, it does usually happen.

Meh, people don't finish puberty until the early twenties.

Age of consent should be fourteen, IMO.

That's what it was in Canada, but we changed it. Mostly due to pressure from the conservative Americans to the South.

 

I think it should have been revised to 18.

 

I agree completely. We must, as a society, accept that people have a certain sexual inclination, and it is beyond their control. Instead of passing judgment and punishing we ought to aim to educate and find a way to let people live out their sexual inclination without harming anyone.

Should the government issue fap-material for paedophiles? Probably not a good idea, as it would send a terrible message. But it is important that we can accept that some people are inclined in ways most people would find abhorrent.

 

I'm in total agreement. I also can't see it as a worthwhile subject for a growing forum. There's probably underground pedophile sites for stuff like that.

 

Well, this is actually a free speech forum. Unfortunatley things like this show up. mjguide.com is the grow place. Plus there's grow journals here too. But there's also subjects like this about. You can't have free speech without free.

You know, that actually makes sense. Why would someone who experienced such a trauma turn around and do it to someone else when they know how terrible it was?

Oh, and no, CP is completely wrong. That includes seemingly harmless pictures. All pedophiles should go out and have themselves castrated, just to make sure that the population is safer. Some of you have said they have no choice in the matter, that it's how they were born, but if they were decent, they'd do the right thing and do what it takes to remove the sexual urges. Having access to pictures of kids only encourages the sexual perversion.
