Male and female at the outset represent the polarity of creative principle. That is opposite physical characteristics in system: the condition, in a system, of having opposite characteristics at different points, especially with respect to electric charge or magnetic properties They are not sexual distinctions. From the beginning it was not so, we were as the angels. "The fall" is essentially eternal spirit identifying itself with perishable flesh. In the body we see ourselves alone and separate from all things and then we die alone, a very depressing proposition. Animal does not animate animus. Animus animates animal.
So what you think Christianity is is a warm fuzzy religion where all God wants us to be is nice to each other? If Satan is real, should not we stand up against him? Also, being afraid from a dream does not prove the dream's reality (in that the dream is something other than the brain working without our conscious awareness), it proves that our brain can make us think we are experiencing something. The experience, including all what we sense, is created by our minds.
Love isn't exclusive but it's usually advocated by your god and his son. However, if it's more in your nature to accuse, than surely you can see why some are reluctant to listen or accept your beliefs. (By "you" I don't mean you specifically. I mean all christians who respond in such a judgemental manner.) Was satan not an angel first who was loved by god? Perhaps if you were to ever face evil, love would be a better sword than hate and judgement. Evil and hate can be re-conditioned. Who said anything about being afraid from a dream? Yes, all we experience is created by our own minds, including dreams. That is to say that reality is created by our own minds, thus dreams are real, part of reality.

1) Jesus saw some babies nursing. 2) He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the kingdom." 3) They said to him, "Then shall we enter the kingdom as babies?" 4) Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, 5) and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female
Are you that lazy? You can't read the gospels on your own? Nevertheless, I'll summarize for you: - obey the 10 commandments - be peaceful, charitable, merciful, forgiving - build up not material possessions, but rather feed the hungry, minister to the sick - take no thought for tomorrow's meals - give your extra clothing to those who need clothing - resist not evil - be non-violent, turn the other cheek - love your enemies, pray for their salvation - don't judge or condemn - refrain from anger and lust - pray in private with the prayer He has given - be careful with what you say Perhaps I've neglected to mention something, but you get the idea I'm sure.
The reason for hyper awareness is this. Hyper awareness, loving god with all your strength and might, or watching lest you be taken unaware, is necessary to overcome the quixotic effects of the dream state. This dream state accounts for consensus consciousness, an image of the world built on the power of suggestion. (The serpent subtly says to the woman....). This dream state is hypnotic in function, you cannot pinch yourself to see if you are awake. If you do not believe this is true, I would point you to advertising as millions are convinced to invest themselves in products that they do not need. We are inundated with subliminal suggestion on every front. Tradition overwhelms our senses as we seek to comply or look for compliance to social conventions instead of trying to understand one another. We do things mechanically without consideration for facts. "Forgive them they know not what they do."
Interestingly, Jesus who is our exemplar, prayed openly as well as in private, perhaps what Jesus was saying was that we should not put on a showy display of hypocritical prayer just to impress others but should pray to God as if the prayer was between just us and god.
I wasn't being judgemental, I was asking what you thought Christianity was. Is Christianity a religion where you just have to be nice and think Jesus was a pretty cool guy, or is there something more? Okay. Or, Truth trumps lies. Lucifer was an angel, but thoroughly rejected God. There is no good in Satan. You did. What we experience is mediated through our brains, but it is not created by our brains. Dreams are real in that we experience them, but there are not real apart from our own brain.
Certainly it is that, there is no other reason for public prayer. Other than to invoke the power of god when did Jesus pray in public?
As long as you don't care whether what you believe is true or not you can have it any way you want. Yes the Bible does contain the record of Jesus' words and Jesus was a man but also the Son of God, something you seem reluctant to admit. The trouble is you believe that Jesus' words were written by men and thus can not be trusted because even men inspired of God are still just men and will write what they want to write. So how can you trust what was written? That is not a problem for me because I believe the whole Bible to be authored by God and all of it can be trusted.
I know. I first used the word judgmental when responding to OWB's unfair judgement of thedope. Then when referring to your last answer I wrote "christians who respond in such a judgemental manner" in reference to OWB's response, not yours. To be completely frank I don't know what christians are anymore. There are so many who disagree with one another, call the others wrong, and on top of that many do not act in a way that is at all indicative of the message they preach. I've met very few who are a living example of their personal beliefs. One hand would do. If he was once an angel that would mean that he was once good. And although I don't believe in the literal existence of that figure, the logic behind it is not hard to understand. Satan was created by god, god can be found within every living thing, therefore god can be found within satan, therefore satan has some good in him. He comes from god. That which comes from/is made by god is not imperfect I just re-read my answer and I'm sure that I did not. This is where we differ in beliefs and so we most likely won't reach a mutual understanding. We could volley back and forth, but I doubt we'll ever agree on this. I'm agreeing to disagree here.
