I get tested regularly because I am paranoid even though I am in a long relationship because many diseases are undetectable in males and can sometimes take years to develop. A few months ago I contracted HPV, and when my Dr. went to do a colposcopy it had went away, so I waited for another check up in a few months. Well, I just had my check up and I came back clear for all STI's/STD's, but my pap was abnormal and was something called a CIN 2. I guess this is some type of abnormal cellular activity in the cervix lining. My Dr. reacted as though I shouldn't be too stressed, but how can I not? I have done some reading online, but every source has a different opinion as to the severity of this. I am absolutely petrified, and do not really understand what this means for me or my future. Has anyone else had to deal with something like this? I am freaking out!

I had the same thing happen to me. I got tested and all they told me was that I had abnormal cell of unknown significance. I had never had hpv but the only thing I could find online was that it was probably hpv, just not advanced enough for them to tell. The doc said come back in a year to get tested again. I guess they werent too worried about it. meanwhile, I got pregnant and they tested me-about six months later, I had chlamyidia, so I dont really trust std tests anymore. I could have spread it to other people because I didnt know I had it simply because they couldnt tell what it was? It makes no sense to me, but yeah, all im saying is you should get tested again soon and maybe they will know for sure. Luckily mine was something you could treat and now its gone, but you never know. I had no symptoms.
