Hey, I've found out that i really need meditation, mostly to control my head, and life in gral, and i was looking for some advice from the veterans, maybe some links or books, or w/e you think may give me some pointers to start... Thanks, braincells
Here's a link to a great meditation teacher, I really, really, really, really, suggest you check out his book «Meditation Made Easy». Just read the comments on Amazon to see how people enjoyed this book. http://www.amazon.com/Meditation-Ma...ref=cm_cr_pr_helpful?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0 Also plenty of information on his site : http://www.lorinroche.com/page72/page72.html Also check this one : http://natural-meditation.org/ The great thing about meditation is that it can be very easy. It is naturally present in all of us, in our genes. It's a natural healing process It can be more healing than deep sleep but the great thing is that it can be acheived in about 5 to 20 minutes... I feel necessary to tell you this : Just be there, you don't need to concentrate, you don't need to block out anything, you don't need to sit still, you just need to be there. You might fall asleep, be distracted or be agitated. That's ok. It's just your body healing. Don't try to control it, just let it be. Your body already knows how to meditate. Meditation can be easy, more than that it can be one of the great pleasures in your life.
The word "meditation" and the phrase "meditative practice" are often used imprecisely to designate broadly similar practices, or sets of practices, that are found across many cultures and traditions.
^^ This is true. And unfortunate because sometimes misinterpreting the culture can prevent some people to tap into their natural genetic meditative abilities.
