    Some of these are being installed on the window sills of squad cars. It cuffs the suspect to the car. A mobile stockade of sorts.

    Might be a good idea as long as an absent-minded cop doesn't drive off after forgetting about a suspect cuffed on the outside of the car. :rolleyes:

    This whole concept rather made me smirk.

    For the person who would just surrender or place their hands as directed by any officer, I can not really see what the benefit would be.

    For someone who is going to resist, I can not really see them walking up to the car and placing their hands in the restraints.

    I could see the advantage if an officer is alone on patrol and needs to stop someone but again it is dependent on the co-operation of the person being stopped.

    I wonder what the actual officers think of these?
