    Hi Guy,

I can only find contradictory information on this. If you have a link or further information, could you post it.

    Thanks

I personally believe that health is more than just medical treatments and has to include good choices that have at times nothing to do with traditional medications only. That is why I asked you.

I could not find clear information and was only hoping that you might have more direct information than I could find.

If not I will post up both sides and people can have a look and as you stated decide. :)

I combined both traditional and so called nontraditional regimes and I do think it has made a difference in coping and living.

    Thanks Guy! :)

the theory is that by eating apricot seeds and the like you can ward off and cure yourself of cancer. you'll need to crack open the shell (its incredibly strong). only eat as many seeds as you could eat apricots in a day. even better just buy the fruit and eat the seed with it.

if you can't get access to medical treatment it could be your best option. if you can get access and the treatment isn't working then this could be the next best thing.

you might read that they are poisonous - i have sat down and eaten as many as i could stomach and am still here to tell the tale. i have eaten them for longer periods with no effect.

i have seen results in at least one other person known to me.

    Thanks for sharing that Guy.

I do think that often the combination of different treatments have tremendous benefits and that using all that you can to become healthy physically and emotionally is the key to maintaining a balance.

If anyone is going to incorporate this into their personal health then do the reading and decide.

The only bit of caution is that if you are under treatments then please consult with your oncologists so that you are sure there is no conflict with medications. Just as you would and do for any other treatment you would be having.

Thanks again Guy and I am glad this helped someone you know! :)

This is what I found at pubmed.gov:

Cyanide poisoning caused by ingestion of apricot seeds.

Department of Pediatric Intensive Care, Faculty of Medicine, Erciyes University, Kayseri, Turkey. basaknurbesra@gmail.com
    Abstract

AIM: To report diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic aspects of cyanide intoxication resulting from ingestion of cyanogenic glucoside-containing apricot seeds. METHODS: Thirteen patients admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Erciyes University between 2005 and 2009 with cyanide intoxication associated with ingestion of apricot seeds were reviewed retrospectively. RESULTS: Of the 13 patients, four were male. The mean time of onset of symptoms was 60 minutes (range 20 minutes to 3 hours). On admission, all patients underwent gastric lavage and received activated charcoal. In addition to signs of mild poisoning related to cyanide intoxication, there was severe intoxication requiring mechanical ventilation (in four cases), hypotension (in two), coma (in two) and convulsions (in one). Metabolic acidosis (lactic acidosis) was detected in nine patients and these were treated with sodium bicarbonate. Hyperglycaemia occurred in nine patients and blood glucose levels normalised spontaneously in six but three required insulin therapy for 3-6 hours. Six patients received antidote treatment: high-dose hydroxocobalamin in four and two were treated with a cyanide antidote kit in addition to high-dose hydroxocobalamin. One patient required anticonvulsive therapy. All patients recovered and were discharged from the PICU within a mean (SD, range) 3.1 (1.7, 2-6) days. CONCLUSION: Cyanide poisoning associated with ingestion of apricot seeds is an important poison in children, many of whom require intensive care.

wow sounds as if apricot seeds are dangerous, maybe i was wrong?

    lucky i didn't die

i sat down on a few occasions and ate as many apricot seeds as i could, i also ate the seeds over an extended period of months.

i never experienced any side affects from any great quantity or small quantity

in some countries they make cakes from this stuff (the seed being the main filler), it must be killing thousands of people a year?
