I don't know, to me it seems that if you don't get your music knowledge from the mainstream channels it's just as easy to get as crap metal.

note to take in mind when listening to Rhapsody of Fire, their cd quality is pretty crappy but as you seen live they do justice.......

I know, change the record. I ment I don't agree real metal gets more exclusive just because crap metal gets more attention in the mainstream. If you would ignore the mainstream channels and dig in the metalscene or following your fav subgenre(s) who cares about your fucking mainstream metal.

If you ask me,the biggest problem with these "kids"nowdays,is the ones that like "metal",half of em couldnt tell you anything about sabbath, megadeth, slayer, pantera, any of the good old school shit.don't even ask em about acid bath, unless it's one of the young uns that hung around me & my buds.I'd also have to say that when metallica put out the black album was a very bad day for metal.Lamb of God is about the only new band I've heard I consider metal.

I couldn't tell you about any old school metal either. Don't care for it, it's soft, it's shit and the vocals are faggy. 90% of my collection is from 2000+ era. It's harder, faster, aggressive and men actually sound like men. IMO.

That's indeed a problem, but only for you :D Don't get me wrong, I love Black Sabbath myself but why should I care that lots of metalfans nowadays aren't into the old school shit?

I don't see how. I agree that it was a very bad day for a lot of Metallica-fans who disliked post-And justice for all albums.

You're view on metal must be limited then. You can't get into any of today's wide and diverse range of metal and it's subgenres?

Hold it right there. If you think the post 2000 metal singers sound like men, then what do the ones that are before the 2000s sound like? I think the ones after 2000 (if we are generalizing) try to sound like monsters, many of them don't remotely sound human, and forget trying to understand them.

This is the perfect example of bad metal.

Trying way too hard just to be hard. Lamb of god puts out an album and AILD puts one out that tries to be harder and LOG retalliates. The only direction metal seems to have been going is harder, harder, more bass faster blast beats, deeper raspier vocals.

But this right here sounds like a big scary dude. If I spoke German I would be able to understand him. What a Concept!!
