Hey I am sorry that this is a newb question: I was wondering what the interaction is between MAOIs and mushrooms. I read on another site that MAOIs potentiate mushrooms effects by enabling the psilocybin to get to the brain quicker? Is this true? Also i was confused because many anti-depressants are MAOIs and i know that many anti-depressants are also SSRIs, which i know to negate the effects of many psychedelic substances, (LSD, DMT, Mushrooms, etc.) I am going to do more research on the topic, and will post findings, in the mean time, can anyone with any more information please share. I would be really interested.
Keep researching. Radical potentiation. Be VERY, VERY carful with fungalhuasca, or whatever it's called. People who predose with MAOI's are reporting radical, profound and frequently very dark effects on just 1-2 grams of 'shrooms. Proceed with extreme caution.
Im almost certain MAOI's like Syrian rue potentiate mushrooms. There are different types of MAOI's, with different potencies, so something like Syrian rue may have a more noticeable effect than alot of anti depressants. Orison just took cymbalta with mushrooms the other night and he said it enhanced though, with some unpleasant side effects but he didnt get into much detail.
