Alright, I had about eighty or so seeds from the mids Ive been buying and wanted to give it all a test run. I rode my bike down some back road here in Florida and planted them in three different wooded areas. I wasnt sure how many to put and how deep to dig. I ended up digging about three to four inches, made sure I found rich soil where it wouldnt flood. After that just reached into my pocket and threw down eight to ten seeds. Three different areas and two or five holes in each. I plan on checking them, randomly, every two weeks or so so whoever does see me wont notice a pattern. I wasnt sure what I was doing, just hoping something grows really. Advice or gripes?
You planted too deep, they may never make it to the surface. only need to be about 1/2-1 inch deep. Plus you are planting at the end of the season in N. America. I wouldn't get my hopes up much over it.
Thought I might have had a chance with Florida's weather but oh well. Ill just collect some good seeds until spring then. What of everything else? Think I could plant in the same spots?
doesnt florida have a year round growing season....its fucking florida...they grow oranges all year long... they will flower early and be on the wispy side but they should still cycle,,short daylight hours are against you...and at this time of year the strain may make a dif..you say you collected seeds over a period from different sources so you should get lucky with at least a few...read up NOW on sexing out the males when the time comes....also 2 week intervals may lead to a male popping and your crop getting seedy so go more often till all males are gone.....straw or hay on the ground at base of plant will help against frost warnings....be very careful goin in...the cops are now using wild life cameras to photograph the growers..they identify by tats....logos on shirts..your bike...your foot prints...watch for gators good luck....
Sure, not so deep though like PB said. But its a long shot that, left unattended, much will come of them. They have a wide range of potential problems to make it to nice mature plants, but what the hell, it cant hurt.
I smoke mids so I get seeds out the ass. I did something similar on the Pinellas Trail (google it I guess haha) but didnt bother burying as it was a Sat morning... the "roadies" are about. Where I planted would be considered residential, about a dense acre of pine and undergrowth for one spot. Every spot though had pine on the ground, I didnt want the dirt getting moved. We'll see. Ill check back some time next week to see the progress if any. Are mids better fresh like that? A friend and I were wondering since we've never seen fresh mids
Next week I decided to go plant three new spots at the proper depth. Im just wishing I started earlier. I dont think theyll be mature enough to survive winter
i am old and dont say mids..according to ub..mids can mean something different in different areas fresh mids?....after 3 months most commercial weed starts to deteriorate so,,,,yes
Im not sure what exactly mine are but theyre damn good for such low quality. Im stoked now, so stoked
