The other thread really got me thinking. It is hardly a major crime for a woman to be a woman and to choose to do or wear certain things that either make her feel good or that she just wishes to. I am not a frilly kind of girl but I do girl things. I do dye my hair. I do wear a minimal amount of makeup, usually only when going out or to work. I wear a light scent. I wear nail polish. I wear silk stockings. I wear jewelry. I wear heels. I wear skirts, dresses and suits. I am not defined by those but I also do not think there is anything wrong with being feminine. Amazingly I also do many things that are not considered feminine, such as most jobs around my property and home. I usually wear different footwear and clothes for those jobs though. Why should it matter to anyone else what anyone wears or does to make themselves feel happy.....
What was the other thread? I frankly don't care what women do -aside from a couple peeves- and I don't think that many men do either. I will say that one place where I quite agree with the gender norms on appearance is leg hair =)
This thread. It was just so slanted and negative. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=408289&f=51 I like being a girl!
There's nothing wrong with wearing anything, it isn't clothes or makeup that make people vain, it's when they feel it defines them or it is used to attach value to another human being to determine their worth or attractiveness. Clothes and all that other stuff don't make a woman feminine, in my opinion. Can a nude woman be feminine? There are no bad words, it's the way they are used that determines their meaning. Clothing and all of that other stuff is the same idea.
I guess I could be considered vain or insecure since I am going to get gum surgery to improve my smile.... but I don't really care whether someone sees that as fake or a problem. I also love being 'girly' in many ways. And I have to say that even when I am out hiking around in the woods at work I am still somewhat dressed up with jewelry and nice clothes and whatnot. I would wear a skirt to work if it was allowed.
Yeah don't trip about that thread. 95% of men don't really care. The only thing I agree with on that thread is plastic surgery. Now if your born looking like something out of a halloween movie and your that deformed then, if you wanna get plastic surgery, then yeah you totally deserve it. but if your just and ordinary girl and your born not looking like a barbie doll and you wanna get plastic surgery to look like one then I think that's very wrong. Im against nose jobs, fake tits, and ass implants. A women should be satisfied with who she is. Don't let the media convince you that you have to look a certain way. Especially girls who think they should be stick skinny. 75% of the girls I find attractive are not skinny. Make up is totally fine. but some girls don't need to wear it as I think they look pretty enough without it. and i remember at high school dances some chicks put on way to much make up and in my opinion would be more attractive without it. it's just depends on the girl and how she does her make up.
For me, it isn't individuals in the system that I find deplorable but the system itself. There is no reason as a society we couldn't value individuals more.
Women should be girly no matter what their doing working construction, carpentry, oil workers, all of which are highlighted on the International sexy ladies show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC7T8R7796g"]YouTube - international sexy ladies 1 Hotwater
Me too! I don't really care if some people find certain things women wear as 'fake' as they probably aren't the kind of people who I would want to be with anyway. If I want to dye my hair, paint my nails, or wear make up then I will. It doesn't change who I am
I agree with you. We all have to be ourselves, and if some guy feels cheated or tricked by a little makeup, he is an idiot.
I don't know if anyone here has gone to nudist resorts, but a distinguishing thing about them is that they have a way of stripping people of all their labels, fashion, authority, vain, socio-economic status, etc. Everyone is walking around in Nature's one-button suits. It has a way of showing the commonality of all people. .
I agree. But I also want to add fake tans. I love love love good skin, and nothing is more of a sin against one's self than going orange.
You can take into account that most of the women you see are wearing makeup, but fake tans and plastic surgery is just plain false advertisement. On the other hand, if surgery was as inexpensive as makeup then men would be dating woman who look however they want, which is what makeup attempts to provide to a point. I think If you are self conscious there is no point in fighting it, but don't get mad when i call you self conscious.
I dont see anything wrong with being girly, doing things that make yourself feel/look good etc. Its when people define themselves by all of it that I don't like. I dont mean just girls either, guys too. I find it a bit ridiculous when people are all made up totally impractical for what they are doing. Or when they have the whole attitude to go along with it, you know Im a girl I cant do that I might break a nail, I shouldn't have to do that. I one watched a bunch of girls, all decked out, hair done, make up, jewelry etc who were waiting for the guy they were with to come back from parking the truck after launching the boat (he ran around like a nut doing everything while they stood there) The dock line loosened up and the boat was starting to float away. They actually said the boat is floating away should we do something, then another said no hes supposed to do it im not doing anything. I tried to go over and grab the boat before it floated away but didnt make it. The poor kid swam about an 1/8 mile to get his boat because the girls thought they shouldn't have to take care of it.
Interesting story but there’s only one question we guys need to know “Were the girls Hot or Not?” Hotwater
